View Full Version : Vitamins make you feel spaced out?

I've been taking multi-vitamin supplements off and on for years but lately have been focusing on taking them daily. I've recently got a brand of multi vitamins that seem to make me feel very spaced out for a few hours after I have one. Its not a bad feeling, just kind of weird: kind of sleepy but not, easily distracted, kind of out of touch with the here and now, almost like smoking a little bit of weed.
Is this a warning sign of something else? I have been under huge amounts of stress in the last few months. Is this a recovery from it?

I know the feeling you are describing completely, but I have never noticed it after taking multivitamins. I feel that way often however due to a weird lack of sleep thing.

My prenatals make me feel that way and a little pukey.. Wait a minute, maybe that's just being pregnant.....

The funny thing is that I have a history of sleep issues but the vitamins seem to help me sleep. Maybe I'm sleeping deeper and better now than in the past and thats making me feel spaced out?

Maybe you have too much melatonin in your system.

Well, yeah but the weird thing is one multi vitamin doesn't make me spaced out while the other (more expensive) one does. I'm just trying to figure out why that is.

I think it's normal... My B-complex vitamins make me feel like i'm high for a hour or so too... Distent and distractable, Giggly and easily amused, Things seemingly popping out of nowhere... etc.
