My question to them:

I live in Rock Hill and have been eagerly awaiting the new Earth Fare here for many months (because I am vegan and your stores carry a lot of foods I can eat). I love the new store, but there is one little thing that your store is lacking.

Your Rock Hill store carries seitan, but it is not vegan (because it contains honey). The name brand you carry is White Wave. That company does make at least three versions that are vegan (here's a site that lists them and their ingredients: http://www.tofutown.net/index.php?id=93). Just wondering if it would be possible to change over or add one of the versions that vegans (like myself) would be able to purchase? I know this may sound like a trivial request, but, vegan seitan is very hard to find these days since The Home Economist quit carrying it and Talley's Green Grocery went out of business. If you carried it, you'd have an edge over everyone because you'd be the sole provider.

Thanks for your time,

-Josh.

Their response:

Good morning Josh-

Thanks for your patronage of our Rock Hill store. I’m sure you’re not alone in wanting a truly vegan seitan. I will send a case of the Seasoned Traditional to Rock Hill on their next order. Occasionally there are out of stocks at our distributor so please check with Grocery manager Jon Miller @ 803.327.1030 before making the trip.

Just an fyi on a packaging change. West Soy recently purchased the tofu business from WhiteWave. All White Wave tofu products are now labeled WestSoy. There were no ingredient changes in the transition.

How cool is this? Not a copy & paste response like most other companies have given me. A real response with RESULTS! :hamster: And, to boot, he informed me of something going on that I wasn't aware of (the acquisition of White Wave). This is first class service, in my opinion.

Earth Fare is pretty much only in North & South Carolina. If you are ever nearby, I highly suggest visiting them.

I've been making my own seitan, but thanks so much for posting this! I live in SC as well (I usually frequent Whole Foods in Greenville, but I've been to EF in Asheville), so this is really helpful :)
