View Full Version : pam anderson & her reaction to KFC sponsorship
As Network Ten went into damage control, Anderson - rumoured to be pocketing almost $500,000 for her four-day trip - said she was not aware of KFC's sponsorship - and didn't really care.
"Sponsorship is something you don't look into when you are offered a job," she said before entering the house.

im a little surprised by pamelas nonchalant response when finding out about the big brother/kfc connection today. she just got paid half a million dollars to go on a show whos major sponsor is kentucky fried cruelty and all she has to say is "i dont care" :surprised she couldve seemed a little more concerned imo.
I was wondering about the sponsoring by them when I heard she was going on the show...
I guess she isn't directly advertising their product but she's still essentially being paid by them.

gah thats frusterating. no one's perfect, but she knows that her public image is that of a vegetarian. this is why celebrities hire publicists: they can check into details of the deal before agreeing to be a part of a project.
its a sucky situation for her, but it is her fault.

hmmmmm, that is strange coming from a strict vegetarian. =/
i reckon pammie mightve actually been a bit more pissed off about the kfc sponsorship than she let on cuz i watched her in the house on the net stream the following day and she didnt seem as into it as she did the previous evening. or maybe it was having to put up with being in the same room as cherry and rory :p

She's also being paid by all the morons who phone in to vote. (I've heard that the phone calls pretty much pay for such shows).

I had some contact with the PETA PR person about this whole deal with the KFC sponsorship and the response I got from them is much like I expected to be honest.
They didn't address the actual issue of Pamela being indirectly paid half a million bucks by KFC to protest KFC, or the difficult position it put her in, but instead chose to focus on the 'any publicity is good publicity' kind of rhetoric.
They firmly believe that as a result of the letter that Pamela delivered to the KFC on the Gold Coast that she visited, any time someone sees an ad for KFC or Big Brother they will think of Pamela's video expose that she made of the terrible cruelty suffered by KFC.
And then they invited me to join their organization....ha ha...I don't think so! Not when you have such meaningless responses to serious PR ****ups :p
heh yeah. drop the sexism and we might all think about it. :wall:
