View Full Version : The Average Cost of A Two-Bedroom Apartment in Syracuse, NY?

I'm 17 and I'll be going to Onondaga Community College in September. Onondaga did not have anymore Student Housing available so they suggested that I purchase an apartment in the school's vicinity. :dizzy:

My mother told me the rent for the two-bedroom apartment was $645 and that if I had a roommate the cost for rent would be split--utilities not included, sadly. I would appreciate it if any "Syracusers" could tell me the average cost of a two-bedroom apartment in the Onondaga C.C. area?
Thanks for the help! :)

I'm at work so I can't pull craigslist to give you the link, but just check out the apartment listings for that area's craig's list. There might be cheaper right outside of syracuse. I'm not familiar with the area, but craigslist always gives me that sort of information. goodluck

Looking it up will help since people in Syracuse may live in different areas with varying price ranges. Try craigslist, and then google apartment guides. :)

You can get an apartment within 10 miles for less than that. OCC doesn't have much student housing and there aren't other apartments within walking distance (that I know of).

Go to syracuse.com and look for apartments in the Tipperary Hill area. Most of those are 2-family homes but there are some buildings. You may be able to negotiate the price of rent--say you found something $50 less than their asking price but you like theirs better.

That area is on the bus line, ok-ish in terms of crime. There is also Fairmount, which is safer and a few miles down the road.

Do not get anything in the west or south sides of the City of Syracuse unless you like high crime areas. :gun: West side is nearby so be careful--PM me with addresses of apts. you're considering, if you want an opinion.
