Okay I am trying to move to Norman, but I'm running into trouble since I have so many animals. I have three dogs, two cats, and two rats and nobody wants to rent to me.

That being said by any chance does anyone know of any houses for rent that will allow me and my pets?

I don't know of any off-hand, but does it have-to, have-to be a house? You might be able to find an apartment that will rent to you, you'll just have to pay a pet deposit. (possibly for each animal)
Where I live, I had to pay $75/ea for my 2 cats and that's a non-refundable deposit.

Are you trying to rent from individuals or from rental companies? I know the companies are very anti-pet a lot of the time. A lot of people are probably gonna be prejudiced against your rats too (stupidly) so you might just mention the dogs and cats and leave it at that.

What area are you looking at? Central? East? West? (You don't have to give specifics, since this is a public board, etc etc) I'm just curious.

Most apartments have a limit of two animals. I think that she probably does need a house, not just because of that but to have room for everyone. :) I do agree that renting from a private individual rather than a company might result in flexibility regarding animal companions. O and I knocked ourselves out trying to find a place in Iowa City that would permit two dogs....ended up renting from a private individual. All she wanted was assurance that barking would be dealt with and not permitted to go on forever. Any other place that remotely considered it wanted a hefty deposit per dog AND "pet" rent on top of that.

Yeah I never mention having rats. Most of the time I just say I have three dogs. I do need a house though and apartment won't work for me. I'll just keep looking in the paper. I need a day when I can just drive up there and cruise around looking for Rent signs. UGH gas prises and lack of time suck lol

Honestly, that might be your best bet. I live very close to campus and there are lots of "for rent" signs in yards but I don't think most of those are in the paper or anything.
