meat, eggs, dairy etc... After reading the whole article, does it seem like a positive thing for vegetarianism? Maybe it will make "mock" meats cheaper and grab the attention of people who are on a budget for their grocery lists and make them at least "try" the products?

I have a feeling that more subsidies will likely be the answer. The higher demand for meat in China is also driving up prices but it seems that no matter the cost, people gotta have their meat.

It will drive up prices across the board. I've seen veggie/organic/health food selections shoot up in price as well. But I do think that in the end it will make people think twice about buying expensive meats, and even if veggie products go up as well, it will still be cheaper than meat, and even if people don't give up meat it could still have a great impact. I honestly believe if people didn't eat meat for at least two meals per week it would have a huge impact...that would be millions of vegetarian meals per week!
