I am always looking for a lunch partner...
So if you need a good excuse
Sweet. I may have to take you up on that offer sometime.
I had somehow managed to get my omni friend to come. She had a patty melt and raved about how it "tasted like real meat."
*shrugs* whatever floats her boat. She's a bit fickle though, because she's like.."I see how much better you look since you've became vegan so I want to at least become a vegetarian....except for chicken soup. I love chicken soup."

I was shopping with her after all...and I had no problem helping her pick out an omni diet. But she felt some odd need to try to "impress" me. I could tell by the way she was saying things.
It was really sad.

Also Eclipse, I am unsure if I agree or not, but I've taken a few ladies to Cosmic Cafe. Only issue is, that restaurant is currently on fire.

Lol Being on fire is GENERALLY a bad thing
Maybe that's just my opinion though :(
I need to get out sometime. My car blew up on 360 yesterday. Flames, smoke, the whole ordeal.
I'm NOT a happy camper right now :(

Hey guys! There is another Ali Baba's that opened up recently on 75 and Campbell... it's just north of Campbell next to a bowling place. Really good lunch buffet.
There's also Suma Veggie (which I haven't been to yet) and Veggie Garden on Arapaho just west of 75 (http://www.theveggiegarden.com/). I've been to Veggie Garden and it was pretty good last time I went.
And, I can never get enough of Spiral Diner... Yum! :smitten:

Thanks for the heads up on the other Ali Baba's! I'll have to let my friend in Dallas know. She's been in mourning.

No problem! When I found out that I wouldn't have to drive to L. Greenville to get their falafels... it was a great day. :)
BTW, Spiral Diner (Dallas & Ft.W.) has cooking classes about once a month. I haven't been yet, but I can only imagine how amazing it is. :lick: I'm definitely going to the next one.

I live in Fort Worth and eat at our Spiral Diner all the time. I have NEVER had anything that wasn't great. I also recommend taking a cooking class. Best part of the class is the tips that James gives and then eating what was cooked. GREAT food.

I haven't been to Spiral in waaaaaay too long. I went more when I was single. My boyfriend is out of town this weekend, so maybe I will go!
I was actually down the street from there the other day, eating at King Tut for the first time. I really liked it. Their falafel is green! The hummus was yum. The only bad thing was I bought a jar of kalamata olives from them (because the ones they served with the food were so good) and they were nasty. Tasted rancid.

Eh...living in the meat eating capital of the world (so it seems), we tend to be occupied with surviving in this city.
But yeah...I just got me a new job so I've been spending a good amount of time there.

I'm coming to Dallas at the end of January to see Broken Social Scene at House of Blues. Any tips on places to stay?

It all depends on your budget really. There are lots of great places downtown and around the area.

Hey guys. I'm new to VeggieBoards, so I just wanted to say hi. I agree that it is hard to find good vegetarian eats in Dallas. I usually cook mine myself.
Currently, I'm intrigued with Freeganism. Has anyone ever done this? I'm curious and a bit scared to dumpster dive...

a bit scared to dumpster dive...
All other things aside, THIS is enough to turn me off of it
And Welcome.
And to everyone else....:surprised
I'm not having a problem at all surviving the "meat eating capitol"
And I'm a full time student and I have a full time job. But I keep myself prepared so *shrugs*
Good luck to you guys.
