Oh yay, Funner and I aren't the only Filipino VBers anymore! OK, we're not really Filipino, but we are in the Philippines. :D
Hi! :hi:

Hi Juno! :hamster:
I kind of expected there won't be a lot of Filipinos here in VB. Though I wish there were more veg*ns in this country.
Know your Tagalog already? :p

Haha! Likewise, Juno. Mukha kong Chinese (mas Chinese kasi ako kaysa Pinoy).
To all the Filipinos or those living in the Philippines: What are your favorite veggie restaurants here? There aren't a lot, I know. But maybe you know of some places that I don't know about yet. :)

My top picks are Chimara, Quan Yin Chay, Kong Tiak and Happy/Daily Veggie. And I know it's not really a restaurant, but I LOVE Healthy Options! They have a lot of veg*n food and cosmetics. :D

I've been there once. Took us a while to find the place, it's quite hidden.

It really is hard to find. :-/ We went to Greens one Saturday, and there was a veggie food festival. That veg*n mango pie and strawberry pie were heaven. :hamster:
I also like Mexicali; especially if at the mall and there are no other veg*n-friendly restaurants. Emerald restaurant's veggie noodles are great too.

A veggie... food festival?? And I missed it??
Oh yeah, Mexicali! I love their veggie burrito. :D
Gloria Maris and Golden Fortune have veggie menus too. Though I feel kinda weird eating at those places. One serves shark's fin and both keep live sea critters in small aquariums. =/

Yes, it is weird eating at those places. An aquarium filled with sea creatures that they would fish out once people order them. :( ...Shark's fin is overrated anyway. I had that before and didn't think it was particularly outstanding. They should really stop serving that.
Mexicali is the only place where my brother becomes vegetarian. No such luck in other restaurants. :D

Heads up guys, I was in Mexicali yesterday and made a disappointing discovery...
I ordered the grilled vegetable fajitas, which is under the veggie-friendly menu. Out comes my food and my veggie-dar starts going off a bit. I tell myself that I'm just being paranoid, but after a few more bites, I'm pretty sure that something's wrong.
I asked the guy at the counter what sauce they used in making the fajitas, and the reply was worcestershire sauce. *facepalm* I knew something was fishy. The guy gave me a comment card to write my complaint on, which he said would be read by the management.
Gah.

heya guys, the healthy kitchen in serendra serves vegetarian food as well, though a bit pricey. had lunch there yesterday :) according to reviews, the salmon and blueberry rice is the food to order, so of course, i wanted to try that. i asked the waiter if they could make a vegetarian version of it, and Chef Rex came up to my table and said he could add tofu instead of salmon, and he'll even adjust the price to be cheaper since salmon is clearly more expensive than tofu. so nag-kwento na ako ng bongga ang haba, ano? but anyway, it's those restaurants that i really like. the fact that they will go out of their way to make sure you can order what you want, and how you want it :) the food was okay, and yes, a tad bit over-priced, but all in all, i was impressed with what Chef Rex did. i'm such a sucker, i know!
Mr. Kebab offers GREAT falafel wraps and the canteen in UPD, next to the university pool also serve decent fried veggies with veggie meat as well ;)
