Animal Acres is a farmed animal sanctuary and compassionate living center located just 45 minutes from Los Angeles.
Animal Acres works to promote compassionate living through its farmed animal rescue and refuge efforts, public education and outreach, and advocacy projects to prevent cruelty to farmed animals.

Animal Acres is having an event to raise much needed funds to help continue their work:
Walk for Country Critters Sunday, July 13, Noon - 4 PM
Help raise needed funding for the sanctuary, and educate people about compassionate living choices, as we walk down the Venice Beach boardwalk. Your participation will help open the doors to many more suffering farmed animals, and teach people that farmed animals are friends, not food! All funds raised will help us build rehabilitation pens for suffering farmed animals.

Registration:
All walkers need to register for the walkathon by July 10th. The registration fee is just $10 per person and includes a vegan lunch, beverages, and a chance to win walkathon prizes!

There are only 21 people registered right now. Imagine how much more we can affect the public by having a large group of us all walking for farmed animals!

Your welcome. We went last month for the first time, and it was really nice! I can't wait to go back, but will have to wait for the price of gas to go back down. The cattle and the turkeys were our favorites.

I missed most of the episode, but apparently Animal Acres is featured in the latest "30 Days" episode, called "Animal Rights". In it, a hunter lives with a vegan/AR family for 30 days, and visits Animal Acres several times. At the end, he says he thinks Animal Acres is a "good idea".

:D :sunny:

I don't have cable, I have been searching all over the internet to watch this. I found a couple sites, but I think I have to wait for the new episodes to be posted. I love technology...sometimes.
