I'm not sure what to call these sites so I just put "recycling", since that's pretty much what they are. I was thinking we could all list all of the sites we know of where people can list things for free to "recycle"/get rid of. The big one is obviously www.freecycle.com. www.craigslist.com also has 'free' section. Does anyone know of any other similar sites?

I wish I knew of other ones. I love freecycle. I've gotten some good stuff from there and have given away some stuff also. I always check my local paper for free items. Its rare that there's ever anything good but its always worth a look.

If it's a nice day I'll put things on the curb with a "Free" sign (or not, because people generally get that they're free) near them. At the end of the day or if it rains I'll pick anything up. I've gotten some furniture that way, and given away a ton of stuff :)

That's a really cool idea, but since I live in the country on a dirt road I don't think it would work for me! (Noone would see it!)

i don't know how much this counts but the local SPCA has a thrift store downtown - i think it's all volunteers there but it's run a lot like goodwill or Acts or something like that.

i've started giving my stuff to them instead of to goodwill as most/all of the money goes to help the animals.

so that could be another idea.

Oh, wow, cool, thanks! Do they only take certain items or all/any? I need to get some stuff together and go over there! Thanks, Jenna! (It's so great having a VBer near by, lol)
