I have IBS and I know when I excersise on a regular basis it helps keep my problems at bay.

I was just wondering if on days like today when I keep running to the bathroom if its a bad idea to go run later or do a little strenght training? (that is if I can stay outta the bathroom)? Would it hurt any?

I'm drinking plenty of water so I dont get dyhydrated.

It seems my stomach either overreacts or underreacts - rarely to I find a happy medium....

I always find myself putting off excersize because "i dont feel the greatest..."
ugh

Hmm, I really think this is a question you should post to your doctor. But in my "layman" opinion, if you are not overexerting yourself, then exercising should be ok. perhaps just go for a lower intensity on days you don't feel so good as opposed to ones you do. Again though, check with your doctor. Also webmd.com has lots of info and I think also a support discussion for people with IBS.

i have the same problem, and i do it depending on how my energy levels feel. on days like that it often leaves you drained, and on those days its not wise to push yourself too much. if your energy is ok then go for it. after a while exercising i have found that i feel less drained on those days and more able to exercise on them, i hope that the same happens for you :)

I'm also not a doctor (go figure). I think any exercise you can do will reward you in the end.

i think you know yourself better than anyone (including a doctor). so, if you feel that you can exercise (that you have the energy for it) and that it will feel good and help prevent future situations, then go for it. :)

Just a note: I have a friend who has put her child on this diet: http://www.scdiet.org/

There are specific carbohydrates which are trouble makers in the digestive system, especially to those people suffering from Crohn's Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, IBS and Celiac. The purpose of the SCD is to eliminate these carbohydrates and cause a healthy, natural, controlled remission.

And Dave Klein is a raw vegan and has written this book: http://www.colitis-crohns.com/

Anyway, not sure if that's helpful.

Maybe just go for a brisk walk or something less than your usual intensity.
