He is the new host of "The Price Is Right". For those who watch the show, how do you think he has done? My father has it on once in a while, and I still can't get used to him. To be fair, I had grown up with Bob Barker as the host, so I don't feel anybody could have done a good job as his replacement. In the same way, I had liked Rod Roddy and don't care much for his replacement either. I haven't seen the ratings or anything, but I don't feel like Drew Carey is right for this particular job.

I think Drew Carey was good on Whose Line Is It Anyway, so I think he can be a good host of a game show type of programme.

I can never forgive him for the US version of Whose Line is it Anyway. Amazing how bad it was, given that a significant number of the brilliant actors were the same in both programs. Am shuddering to think what the US version of Absolutely Fabulous will be like.

Some friends were just discussing this the other day and they said he was pretty bad...but I haven't seen the show so I can't say personally.

I think Drew Carey could be a good host, but this isn't the right show for him. Though, like you said, I don't think it would 'be the same' with anyone else besides Bob Barker.

I've seen him host the special Friday night Price is Right a few times, and I think he does a great job. Bob's shoes are hard to fill, but he's a pretty darn good replacement, imo.

While we're on the subject of Bob Barker, does anyone know if he's vegetarian? I've always been curious about this. He's very compassionate about animal welfare, but that doesn't mean he'll be for animal rights as well.

As far as I know, he is. I did a google search for "Bob Barker vegetarian" and all the sites seem to say he went vegetarian in 1979.

I wondered about that because of a couple of lines he has in Futurama

I think the Price is right should have ended when Bob Barker left.
