I have a hand-me-down food processor/blender combo unit that just caught on fire!
. . . I used it like 3 times a day at least. I don't know what I'm going to do!
I really want to get a blendtec or vitamix, but I really can't afford anything over $100 right now (I can't really afford that to begin with!). I almost used the food processor more than the blender!
Anyone know of a good deal, or a great product that's worth it? My magic bullet and blender and food processor have now all just died within the past month. I feel like my food options just went down by about 60% haha!

a pestle and mortar and potato masher would probably set you back about $20
i quite liked my braun stick blender thingy.

Do you know any good websites where I could get a deal on a washboard, and maybe some oil lamps?

Oh, Come now! Using some muscles and a little time won't kill you! If anything it'd make you appreciate 'the little things' more. Not everything needs to be done with electricity.
You probably won't get a good quality food processor for less than $100 but our blender (which i've used everyday for 2 years) was only $20 and it still works fine. It just takes a lot longer to get things like nuts creamy than the better ones.

Don't forget the thimbles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washboard) for the washboard! :)

No worries, Bof! They're on order with the pan flute and mouth harps.
I'm quite tempted to order this http://www.everythingkitchens.com/waring_commercial_blender_MX1000.html but it costing the same as a semester's worth of books, and the fact I'd have to use student loans to buy it are holding me back.

Look on craig's list, possibly even post a wanted ad on Craig's list. No need to go buy a brand new one. Maybe check out open box deals at best buy and other such bargains?
Sound do you fine until you get the moneys saved for a real good replacement :)

I wish I knew what you folks do with all of your fancy kitchen and bedroom appliances. I've been vegan 12 years and just use a knife and cutting board. Maybe someday I'll find out what I've been missing...:lick:

That ... actually looks perfect. And I found one on Amazon with a glass jar for $39.99. Thats probably what I'll get. Thanks!
Someday the majestic Vita-Mix or Blendtec will be mine! :guitar:

I don't want to know how you use a knife and cutting board in the bedroom.
