Has anyone used this new product? According to their website the ingredients are naturally derived from plants and minerals except for the preservative and green coloring. They also state that they don't test on animals. I don't know what the exact ingredients are since they aren't listed.

Anyway, I'm not a fan of Clorox and their harsh chemical products but am considering trying this. Right now I'm using the WF's 365 stuff. Apparently Costco is adding it to their line of products so I can probably get a whopping supply at a decent price. Clorox Green Works toilet bowl cleaner compared to Seventh Generation at Target was slightly more expensive.

I saw this advertised and was wondering about it as well.

I've never tried it, I'm a huge fan of the Holy Cow cleaners line of products.

I'm iffy about chemical preservatives and coloring and where they're sourced from. I'm trying to avoid petroleum chemicals all together. All the same, it's good Clorox is offering a green alternative, and on the plus side, I'm sure you could find coupons for it in the papers.

Rani, what is this supposed to be used for? Is it a substitute for bleach?

No, it's a whole line of "green" cleaning products made by Clorox. It has nothing to do with bleach, it just has the Clorox brand name. It includes all-purpose cleaner, toilet bowl cleaner, glass and surface cleaner, etc. It's an all natural formulation. It's Clorox jumping on the green bandwagon.

I have been trying them out and they seem to work well, as well as 7th generation products at only a fraction of the cost.

They also do not make me run for my inhaler, however I have yet to get the full facts on them on how earth friendly they are after all natural does not always mean good but since they were on sale I am giving them a try.

I came across this Clorox product by accident, but decided to give it a chance.

I agree, it's works as good as 7th Gen, and it's much cheaper. I haven't had trouble breathing around it either, which is something new for Clorox products.

I bought some of the all purpose cleaner. It does not have a "chemically" smell at all. I have yet to see how well it cleans.

Thanks for all your responses. Cheap is definitely attractive. Especially since it's more likely to find coupons, sales, etc on Clorox products than 7th gen or others. I'll have to try it out when it's time to buy new cleaners.

Regardless if I can afford 7th Gen products, I wont buy them because I cant stand forking over so much money for things like paper towels and toilet paper, no way! My household cleaning method has been baking soda and vinegar in the bathroom and kitchen. I have been using bleach on occasions too. I will definately have to give this product line a try.

I used the Clorox Green works in my bathroom and I liked it. It did not have the heavy chemical smell that ordinary cleaners have and I didn't feel like I was going to pass out after I was done with the task. It made my apartment smell very fresh versus a toxic waste site.

we have used it too, and it works well.

it also, surprisingly, has no dioxins found in it. there was a list of "organic and natural" products (cleaning to soaps, etcetc) from brands, im sure we all use, and there were surprising levels of dioxins found in these "safe" products, but there was none found in the clorox green items!

I just posted something about this on another forum.....They say that they don't believe cleaning products should be tested on animals....but all other clorox and P&G products do, so WTF? Hypocrites......this is what you call damage control.

I would be leary of the company, more than the product. I use Biokleen products. I buy the 32oz. bottle of all purpose cleaner about every 18 months or so. It's SUPER concentrated. I mix about 2 TBS. of cleaner, to 32oz of water. It has a nice citrus scent, and leaves no residual smell in the house.....just clean. I think it's 7.99 for a 32 oz bottle of concentrate. That beats ANY cleaner out there at cost, and it performs beautifully!

Thanks for the info. I like that it's concentrated. Less packaging waste. And the price is definitely cheap. I think you have me sold on trying the Biokleen stuff instead of Clorox. And you're right, the company as a whole really does need to be seriously considered and Clorox loses.

Is there a store that sells Biokleen or do you order it online?

I buy it at Whole Foods, or another local HFS called Mother's Market. I'd imagine you can purchase it online. They have a whole line of products that I really like. I'm not real fond of their powdered laundry detergent, but the liquid is nice. The automatic dishwashing soap is great, as well at the regular dish soap. They also have drain enzymes that eat away at gunky build up in your drains/disposal. Here is a link to their website to learn more about their products. They might have a retail directory.

I'll have to look into that. Between hair products and other stuff getting washed down my drain and my cat thinking the bathroom sink is the latest, greatest place to sleep, that drain is always running slow.

Thanks for the link.

I LOVE method products. The tub & tile cleaner is the best I've used, the laundry soap is awesome, the all-purpose counter cleaner is a staple, the good for wood table is used often on my coffee table.

My parents use the air freshener plug-in near their cats' litterbox, and love it, they use the granite and the stainless steel cleaners, too.

I would highly recommend it. And at Shoppers Drug Mart where I buy it, I get points, and then end up using points to buy more stuff!
