Is anyone else as disapointed with the new Whole Foods on Hwy 6 in Sugar Land as I am? I was sooo excited that they were putting a Whole Foods outside of Houston and closer to where I live, and then I went there and I almost cried. They don't have any vegan desserts like the Whole Foods in downtown Houston, and barely and tofu dishes in the deli type section. The store is also very dinky. I was just expecting to come home with a piece of their delicious vegan cake and some kung pao tofu, and instead I came home with some disapointing tofu and no cake.

My daughter was also disappointed that she didn't get her cake there. They have papers there for suggestions and she requested vegan deserts. The Sugarland one is really sad compared to the one in Austin.

We went there yesterday for lunch, and the food was good but not as good as the other Whole Foods I've been to. They finally have Kung Pao Tofu but it was just lacking compared to the large Whole Foods in down town Houston. Also, no vegan desserts in the bakery still.

i drove past this one a few weeks ago and was so impressed that they had one there. too bad it's not up to par though. you guys should definitely tell them how you feel about the veggie options. i'll write too
i just found out they are building a new one near the Heights on Waugh as well. this is just walking distance from a friend of mine's house. i will make sure to request they have all the things i love from the Kirby store. customers have to be really vocal about these things.. i recently found out that the Kirby store stopped carrying White Wave's Wheat Meat, which i use for stir fry's & stew type dishes and now i make them special order it for me. that is the 3nd time the stopped carrying a product i love. :brood: my dog loves Natural Life Vegetarian Formula and they dropped it, but they still special order it for me :D you just gotta speak up!

I don't know about how they make it at your Whole Foods, but the one time I bought Kung Pao tofu here in Houston (Bellaire & Stella Link), I was rather annoyed to discover "fish sauce" as one of the ingredients. After I'd eaten it, of course.
And yes, fish sauce contains fish.
