Just thought I'd take a general survey of who lives in NY and whereabouts. Obviously, don't give me your home address -- just an idea... County or Region or whatever. Maybe we've got some clumps of folk and can get together.

I live in Albany, and my parents live in Southern Westchester (where I'm originally from) so I'm down there visiting every couple of months as well.

Rochester also. Doesn't seem like there are too many New Yorkers here??? Or maybe they haven't found their way to this section - just stumbled in here myself!

Poughkeepsie. I'm like midway between you all.

Any of you also members of the mid hudson vegetarian society? Or for that matter, want to do a veggieboards potluck sometime?

I joined the albany veggie meet up group but never attended anything since they only ever do meetups on weekdays and despite my responses that i can't do weekdays between work and school, they never make them on weekends. Plus their meetups cost like $25 which is way more than I would actually eat in food.

I'd totally do a potluck. Heck, I'd even host one. At least I know no one will try to eat my cats. Albany is a good place because it's also within an hour of Western, MA, so we could rope in those folks. Maybe I'll start a thread...

I'm a little late, but I live in Charlton. Even people who live in the area aren't familiar with the town. It's near Saratoga, Schenectady, and within driving distance of Albany.

I think that meetup reorganized or was replaced since you left them. They only collected a dollar or two the one get-together I was there, and we each ordered our own food.

Is it possible there is more than one meetup group in albany?

Thanks. I'm not so sure about this month, but I'll definitely look into it.

I don't know... About 2 years ago I picked up a leaflet for a vegetarian meetup in "Shades Of Green" restaurant. I never got around to joining. About 2 months ago, when I was going through my papers/stuff, I came across the leaflet again and typed in the web address, but got a message saying that group was no longer active and was re-routed to the one I just joined.
