Sadly I've been informed that the vegan cafe in Albany which a member here told me about has closed down. Was it called Food for thought?. I only got there once on my B-day in Feb. Someone please correct me if my info is wrong. I was told business was too slow. Always a shame when a veg*n place goes under:(.

You heard right . Food for Thought did close down. The owner's also own Little Anthony's Pizza and have added some of the vegan items from their Food For Thought menu to Little Anthony's (vegan Philly Cheesesteak, vegan riblets) along with their usual vegan pizza, calzones, meatballs, and chicken nuggets. It does really suck though because I was in Albany not too long ago for the weekend and was soo excited to visit Food for Thought. But instead I just made many trips to Little Anthonys.

I think one of the problems with Food for Thought was that they got some bad press for using sugar processed through bone char and then denying it to the customers. Made the local vegans a bit nervous about what else they were doing to the food. It also had kind of a crap location.

Next time you're in Albany look me up! Or... just go to A Taste of Greece and get their Dolmades Gyro made vegan. Ohhh man it's good.

Speaking of which.... me and my girls are always at a loss for restaurants in the Capital Region area (Albany/Schenectady..) . I would love to go out more, but don't know about any vegan/vegetarian restaurants in the area. Any good places you guys like to go? Fortunately the little places around here have learned to tolerate my constant asking what is in their dishes. They offer Vegetarian Burgers in one of them now :)

Check out the restaurant thread Nykoelle made. I'll post my response there. Makes more sense, topic wise.
