Hey guys, maybe this is a silly question, but I'm wondering what a raw foodist might eat at a restaurant. Are you confined to eating salad? Do you not go out to eat at all? Spill!

Well if you live in a large city I am sure that there is a raw restaurant somewhere around.

Great question!

At a Mexican place, I usually ask for guacamole, tomato slices, and lettuce leaves. Instant guacamole wraps!

It's also fun to cruise through the menu to figure out what sort of fruit & veg they have available, and then build a creative salad from those ingredients. Just be sure to ask for a slice of lemon or whatever on the side, NO DRESSING and NO CROUTONS! No cheese, etc. Just veggies/fruit. Super fun.

I see, so there is a lot of improvisation involved. Thanks for answering! Yesterday I had a raw meal from a sandwich place. It was cucumber, sprouts, tomato, and guacamole wrapped in lettuce.

Even though you already had one answer, I thought I would chime in as well. I'm just getting back into raw, but I can tell you what I used to do.

I would make sure that most of my calories wouldn't be coming from the meal when I ate out, in other words...I'd eat before I went. I would typically eat some filling fruit before hand and then once I was there all I really *wanted* was a salad. That's just how I typically worked around it.

At the vegan restaurant I work at they offer three raw vegan options, a vegetable 'terrine', a vegetable tasting mosaic, and a 'caprese' paisan (typically caprese dish would be mozzerella and tomatoes, they make a nut 'cheese' out of raw nuts that mimics the mozzerella).
