Today marks a year since I stopped eating meat and made a huge lifestyle change.

I honestly NEVER expected to be doing this for longer than a week, let alone an entire year.

I never would have gotten to this point if I didn't have you guys. This community helped me so much in the first few months. I know I wouldn't have stuck with this if I had never joined this forum. All the tips, recipes, and support is truly amazing.

Thank you for everything, and I can't wait until I hit the two year mark!

Congratulations!! You're an inspiration to all of us who just started. I wish the best in the future and I've read somewhere that every vegetarian saves 100 animals a year, so you just saved 100 animals!

Hey! That's actually a really nice thought to have. I'm going to go find 100 cows and hug them all or something =D

Yeah, I remember being so terrified when I started. I never commit to ANYTHING at all, and I honestly thought that this would just be a one-week thing I'd refer to every time I met a vegetarian...I guess if you're passionate about something it makes it a lot easier!

Honestly, the hardest part about the whole thing is dealing with the PEOPLE around you. Giving up meat is the easy part, it's learning to tolerate stupid people that's hard =P.

I agree!! Giving up meat isn't hard if you really believe that it's the best for you, but having to deal with people's comments and such is a nuisance. I've heard comments like, "you're gonna starve" and "you might faint". Congratulations once again and I can't wait until it's my one year veggie anniversary!

Congratulations. I never really thought about marking my starting date for an anniversary. Darn. Another thing to celebrate each year could be a good thing. :-)Maybe I'll make one up -- I know the month and year

I just made the decision to give up meat last week and I already am hearing stuff like that from my family and some friends, but you have to stick to what you believe and not pay any attention to the critics.
