I'm pretty thrilled, I've come a long way in a short time!
For those who don't know, I was chosen to compete on the M.D. (Muscular Development) Stage for the Fitness Model Competition "Major Distraction" at the Arnold in Ohio.
There were a very diverse group of gals competing from Bodybuilders to Figure Gals .... a lot of pros. Many of them are huge and shredded to pieces. I have "spoken" to several on the BBing forums and was looking forward to new friendships. Given the organizations I compete in, I def have a softer look (I compete on the natural circuits), but they knew that when they picked me to compete. :)
I have only been competing in Bodybuilding since August of 2007 so was quite an honor to be chosen with so many who wanted to compete.
I knew that no matter the outcome, I had already "won", the coverage and follow up has been incredible. So I'm just enjoying the journey, and had a blast doing it! (I LOVE the stage)!
Thanks to everyone for all their support!
Everyone I worked with was amazing. The event is simply over whelming and my room mates, were wonderful! Am still recovering from the event and the very long drive. Landed 2 modeling contracts on site at the Arnold and made a lot of contacts, so quite an success and delightful experience. :)

With one of my Room Mates for the Weekend, Robert Cheeke. They were so sweet to wait with the crowd to get pics taken at the booth.
Actually taking off his glasses, but I found the moment to be a riot!

Veg Cafe, Ravi found. Since I was competing, I only got to actually get food there once, but well worth the wait!
Found some more, they had a really nice crowd there. Triple H & Jose Conseco in background behind me:

very cool.
it's so unfortunate that you have to be that weird orange-tan color. and not just "you" but everyone. kinda annoying.

thanks guys :)
zoebird, comp tan is required to see definition under stage lights, otherwise the skin (no matter the ethnic background) washes out and looks "flat". :)

i know the reason for the tan, i just think it's an unfortunate color.
i think that real tans (from sun) make really beautiful hues, but that tanning beds and fake tans make really horrid hues for people.
and it's sad that you can't just get a tan (you know, depending upon where you live), or that tanning beds/oils don't have natural colors in them so that you get a normal hue.

Hi again SeaSiren :hi:
--- in most/some cases---I to am not a fan of tan generally, basicly is where I'm coming from here (results are variable right from person to person?), but I don't say you or anyone in the main/per se looks way bad or anything, (the look beneath that of the tan is obviously good) but I do feel the bodybuilding fraternity OVERDOSES/OVER-DOSE the effect....so its not that everybody is trying to get personal with you (I hope) its just the color drenched bodybuilder or SeaSiren in this case, could be seen as a pot of highly polished varnish, with the artificial tan thing sort of over-riding the muscle which it is supposed to help define! but alas not always so I think...And just the color of it to me, sometimes has the opposite effect of adding attraction. Just another point of view. But obviously do what you are happy with and if necessary what the judges of your contest are happy with if that is mandatory the articificial tan must be used (or maybe a less intense homemade coloration alternative acceptable by the board maybe.... and anyway are these tans which you have on in these pics, passed by the vegan certified board or anything as the first obvious question?).

A good ascertion to make here btw, is that not everyone in the pics wherever you find on the net (pics of the bodybuilding kind) are of a sort that depict the overly brown and glossy tan. So not in every pic do you find everybody is going OTT using it, fair to say?

oh, and tans may not actually be linked to cancer, or certain types of cancers anyway. :)

Thanks guys :) It was so much fun.
UK, yes mandatory, if you want to actually place,, if you go to my myspace or my site you can see my first two comps... I was graded down by every judge for not being dark enough. Had it spot on by the third though :)
We are still updating my site as we speak and the comp before the arnold is not up in the gallery yet. But will be by weeks end. I have 2 interviews and a couple submissions do today, plus e-mails, updates, contracts and Personal Training updates for a couple of my clients. So not sure when I can get back, but hopefully by the weekend to start the journal, as it needs an "introductory" sorta page, so it's easier to follow.

Why doesn't someone come up with better shades? There are all kinds of hair dyes. It seems like someone could come up with a better pretend tan lotion.

i'm not sure how the chemistry of those tanning dyes work. i have seen people who look more brown--it was some dye from an infomercial. . .it went on black, but as you rubbed it in, it went brown. . .i never tried it, and it was an infomercial afterall. . .
anyway.
