Okay, so this is not the first time I have walked 5k. I do that about every other day on the treadmill, but today was the first time I ever walked in like a big event - - The Gasparilla Distance Classic 5k Walk. I did it with my mom. Yeah!

Yay! How'd it go? I've never done a big event walk. I've always wanted to, though.

It was fun! It was over SO FAST, though. I wish they had a longer walking event. I can't run, so I couldn't do the 15k, but it was over like that! Plus, the scenery was nice - we walked down Bayshore - the world's longest continuous sidewalk!

:pibo: Wonderful!!!

OT: What kind of treadmill do you have? I want one, a folding one probably. I may start a thread.

I did Blooms day once, it's nice to do something like that with people... community and all.

Wow that is quite an accomplishment! 5K sounds like a LONG ways to me! :D
I hate my cheap treadmill; I wish I had gotten a better one. I will probably sell it for a lot less than I paid for it. (once I pay for it!)

I use the crappy one in front of my complex or the one at my dad's gym (he's a massage therapist, so I get to use the cardio for free). I don't own one, but I'd sure like to one day.

5k isn't actually that long. It's about 3 miles, I think, which is really not far.

That is SO freaking AWESOME!! Congrats!! I'm going to run a marathon next spring/summer. Until then, we're having a Walk For Autism charity event in May and I would like to possibly participate in it. They usually need TONS of volunteers but if I don't volunteer I'm definitely going to walk!! Peace & Love!!

That's great! You're lucky to be able to do things like that. I'm stuck walking on a crazy country road having to jump into 4 foot ditchs to avoid being hit by speeding cars. Not very fun... I've always wanted to do an actual endurence walking event, I just have no one willing to do it with me. I'd love to do about a 15k event.
