You might have seen that I posted in another thread that my boyfriends mother wants a copy of the Vegan Cooking for One cookbook. That surprised me enough but then last night my boyfriend asked me to make him the same vegan meal that I was having and has said that he wants to try eating vegan every night with me! Of course he'll probably still have meat with his lunch at work but this might be the start of something good! He said he really enjoyed his meal last night! This is the guy who only a few weeks ago I was having huge rows with because apparently I kept "going on" about cruelty to animals etc and he was sick of listening to me. I'm just shocked and amazed!!! I don't know what has caused him to suddenly want to eat vegan meals every night but whatever it is it's all good with me! I'm just going to let him figure things out for himself and not push him or assume he wants to become veg*n.

He's still sticking with it! He's even cooked the meals with me the last couple of nights! It's amazing!!!
He said to me last night "I can still eat whatever I want during the day can't I?". I told him it's up to him what he eats (I'm not pushing my opinions on him). I thought it was a weird question to ask. He's obviously thinking about what he eats now. I think maybe he wants to eat vegan because he thinks it will make him lose weight and make him healthier. I hope he does lose some weight as then that will encourage him to stick with it, rather than going back to his diet of pizza and burgers almost every night!

Congratulations - what a great post. Once people realize that we vegans eat really good food, they tend to get more and more curious and more accepting of our choices. Yay for your positive influence!

I'm delighted. It's good that not only is he eating vegan meals in the evening but he's taking an interest in what goes into them and is learning how to cook as well. I think he's actually enjoying chopping up veg! His parents happened to pop over while we were having dinner last night and he was even going on about how great the food was to them and getting them to taste it! I think he feels proud of himself for helping to make it and he wants everyone else to share it with him. I hope it's not just a phase and it's something he will carry on with. I want him to eat healthier because before his diet was seriously bad and he was gaining tons of weight!
