Mountain biking shoes?

Hey everyone! My bf has just recently (recently as in about 6 months ago) taking up mountain biking, and he's really interested in doing it right and going all out. He has done a lot of research and would like to buy a pair of mountain biking shoes - the type that clip into the bike pedals. The problem is that he can't find any high quality shoes that are vegan. Can anyone suggest a brand? Thanks for any tips you might have!

You might want to ask the people over at bike forums (http://bikeforums.net/). They are way knowledgable about bike stuff. I've even seen people ask for suggestions on vegan equipment before. It is worth a shot.
