Hey, hey.
I'm going to be in Charleston for the day on Friday. I'll most likely be eating at the hospital there (MUSC), but if we get a chance to get out to somewhere else I was wondering if anyone knows of places I can get some good veg*n food?

I have no idea where those are in proximity to where we'll be, but thought I'd throw that out there in case someone has been to some of/any of those.

There's an interesting vegan soul food place that's run by a religious group called the Black Hebrew Israelites. It's The Soul Vegetarian South Complex, 3225-A Rivers Ave. N, Charleston, SC, (843)744-1155.
You can't even tell it's a restaurant-- it's behind a little schoolhouse. And there's a beauty salon in there, too. (I said it was "interesting.") But you can get vegan southern food, and they don't talk about their religion to you.

The Sprout is vegan and mostly raw. A little expensive, but it's all good.
Whole Foods Market (in Mt. P) & Earth Fare (West Ashley, South Windermere) are here, too.

Also, Five Loaves Cafe is good to eat at. There's a place Downtown and a place in Mt. Pleasant. They've got great food, for both lunch and dinner. :)
