- ANIMAL LIBERATION GATHERING HOLLAND

- .5.6.7 september 2003 -

- practical workshops-demos-information-inspiration -

- GET INVOLVED - GET ACTIVE -
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
------

- the gathering will be held in a town called Hengelo, in the east of
holland.
(close to the german border.) We will keep the exact place of the gathering
unknown until
two weeks before september so everything can be arranged there safely, so
keep
yourself updated.

- we have planned anti-HLS and anti-FUR demo's on friday afternoon and
saturday.
we will try to arrange vans and busses to take people to the demos. own
transport
will be appreciated.

- Informative workshops about direct actions, campaigns, research and setting
up demos, are being prepared. You can do your own workshops, only if they are
practical and help people getting active for the animals. Remember; this is
an animal liberation activists-meeting, not a philosophy group.***

- the weekend will start on friday-morning where we will have a
introduction-meeting
at 12.00 were the groups/countries can introduce themselves. People are
welcome
to arrive on thursday as well.

- breakfast and the evening meal will be prepared by a local group and will
be as cheap as possible, according to the pay-what-you've-got-principle.

- parking places won't be a problem this time

- spread the word, put it on your websites, etc. arrange bustrips and stay
away
from work and school so we will have a huge impact once again!

- for more information about the gathering please mail to;
liberationgathering2003@hotmail.com

Don't know If I come to that. I think I don't have the time and I think it is too much ALF or ADL. Or it will get out of control.

I might come. I'm in the country and although I'm not (much of) an AR person, I would like to meet any VB'ers who come, I'll also come to the demo's probably (although I have an important meeting and a party on friday).

Maybe we could organize a VB meetup there one of those days, probably in the evening?

Hi again!

Okay, forget Hengelo...
The place changed.
A similar group that did the last gathering is organising it, but it will be different. I don't think that it will get out of control and you can still decide on your own if you want to join a demo or not.
If you want to make a difference join it.

Hope to see you there!

If you've more questions write to liberationgathering2003@hotmail.com

Hey-

I am new to the board and am moving to Amsterdam for 3 years of study at uni. from the states. Just wanted to say hey b/c I figured you Dutchies would already be eyeing this thread.

Anyway, not sure if I will go or not...bookmarked the site alinac...just don't want to get myself in trouble after being there for less than a month since I am a foreigner, make sense? Maybe some of you guys have some feedback for me or have been to past events like this?

Also if I am not having a scooter since I will just be there is public transport possible? And any cheap hotels nearby? Look forward to hearing back from y'all, peace.

hey herby,

i am living in germany and i'm from australia and i'm not really worried about getting in trouble there. i also worry about getting into trouble with the police and choose which "demo's" i go to. there might a bit of action going on but i'm sure you can choose what you want to participate in and what you don't want to participate in .....

what kind of visa will you have?? a student visa i guess ....
i have a residence permit and work permit and even when i have had my name taken by the police (for being in public place outside a LAB), i didn't even have any ID on me and nothing happened ....

just some advice from me anyway, it's up to you totally what you choose to do, of course ;)

let us know if you will come along !!!
i'll be there selling stuff with my merch and info table www.rootsofcompassion.org so come and say hello if you do come along :) i'm sure there won't be that many people with aussie accents hehehe

adited to add >>> by the way, welcome to the boards :vebo:
i know people who are coming from amsterdam and could hook you up with them if you want to go along ????

I only heard that previous year there where some little trouble. I never been there so I don't know exactly.

Yes, I think so. You could travel by train and later go with a taxi or something to the exact place (still unknown I think?!)

I think you can sleep there. Look at the website.

Welcome aboard, Herby :).

I study at a university in Amsterdam as well :). Regarding transport in general whilst staying in Amsterdam: buy an old bike and a good lock. When in Rome, do as the Romans do ;).

Hi dudes!

@Herby: Yeah, just come =)
I don't think that you have to worry. Just as w_o_e says, you can choose on your own what you want to do and what not.
+check the website http://www.gathering2003.de.vu as Vegantastic told you.
Since I'm not from Holland I'm not into the transport there... so write to liberationgathering2003@hotmail.com .
They will help you and I do believe that other people from Amsterdam will join the gathering...

@with_open_eyes: Yay =) I'm looking forward to c ya there.
I love your rootsofcompassion work!

Oh, yeah, if I'm going there, which is by no means certain, we could travel together on my OV-jaarkaart (that's a card that gives me free transport and up to three companions 40% discount).

I'm probably not coming :(, I now seem to have social/family events planned on all those three days. If the venue is easy to reach I might pop my head in to meet with you & possibly go to a demonstration, though.

awww that's a shame finlay. it's even being held close to you!

they announced the location and it is no way near the border to germany (much to my disappointment) :(
this years gathering is taking place in amsterdam noord (north)
