I would like to hear from those who know where in Disneyland the vegan-friendly places are. I haven't been there in 15 years! I haven't had much luck looking online. Help! Thanks!

I've never been, but I have heard that you can bring in food if you have any special dietary needs, so you could always pack some food in with you. (I think there was a thread around here last year on this topic, but I can't seem to find it).
Have fun!!!

I'm going to disney world in July. I went there when I was vegetarian (now I'm vegan) and had some things I could eat.. butn ow that I'm vegan I'll pack some stuff so I have nutrition as well.
Hmm, but I was just thinking about this the other day aswell.

Yeah, if I would have planned better, I could have prepared some food but I really didn't want to lug stuff around or have to go to the lockers/my car either.
I did a search and couldn't find a thread either. :(
Thanks! I am going with my daughter and her friend, so I am really a chaperon more than anything, still, I plan on having a LITTLE fun! :D
I am going to the Disneyland park in California.

Well, this is one in Orlando, but maybe it will help?

That's really cool, I just brought food with me, I didn't want to chance anything. I won't need the link for a while though, not until I have kiddies, Disneyland is way too boring.

Bengal Barbeque in....Adventureland I think.....has really nice vegetable skewers, with potatoes and peppers and mushrooms. I believe if you get a ticket into Disneyland you can get into California Adventure (not sure, I have a pass and I can get into both) and at the Boudin Bakery on the pier/wharf thing there is a vegetable chili in a sourdough bread bowl, I believe that is vegan. Also the tortilla factory next door gives out free tortillas . I think in Frontierland in Disneyland there is a Mexican restaurant, and they might be able to find something for you. If all else fails, there is a Jamba Juice at Downtown Disney, as well as plenty of restaurants (bakeries, Italian restaurants, etc) where I am sure you can find something. All throughout the parks there are fruit stands, but they are a bit overpriced. Some stands also sell all-fruit popsicles I think.
It's not too hard to find things, you just have to look in the right place. Many, if not most, of the restaurants in the parks do not have vegan (or even vegetarian) options for a full meal, but you might be able to piece together a meal out of small snacks.
Good luck!!

Those are really cool, but AFAIK none of those places are in Disneyland. Apparently Disneyland and Disneyworld are really different...I think they don't have the same restaurants or anything.
To the OP: Try this link : http://www.allears.net/dlr/tp/dl/dl_rest.htm
there are menus for all the restaurants in Disneyland. I was going to say that they had a really yummy vegan salad at Redd Rocket's Pizza Port called Starfield of Greens, but according to that menu it now has blue cheese on it???? :brood:

Thanks! I will be fine if there's a Jamba Juice. It may be an almonds, all-fruit smoothie (with extra protein powder!) and French fry day for me. Oh well, we all need one of those from time to time, right? :D

found this site...http://www.geocities.com/vegetariandisney/
lots of vegetarian options, but some seem easy to order vegan.
ouch the prices are inflated ( veg soup w/ salad = $8.29, portabellas =$13.99, veg gumbo = $7.49) be prepared to over pay!
also the downtown disney area has more options than inside the parks (i have had good vegan luck at House of Blues) also never been to Catal, but the menu looks promising...

I know she probably already left for the day, but I'll post this for future references:
I'm pretty sure the Veg Gumbo is vegan, but the bread bowl it's served it probably isn't. I honestly don't know if they have regular bowls. The gumbo is good :) I've had the grilled veggies right across from the Jungle Cruise, but I don't know if they're cooked on the same grill area as the meat. I honestly didn't like them though because I hate onions and peppers.
Downtown Disney has a lot to choose from, but don't know what is vegan.
What's great though... disneyland lets you bring in your own food. I pack Uncrustables (vegan) and mixed veggies :) I got Jamba Juice last time I went... there were about 30 people in line. It was crazy.
A lot has changed in the last years too... they now have vendors who smell fruits and veggies. It's AMAZING how health conscience the place has gotten. The prices aren't too bad either. I usually get a pineapple spear and mixed veggies if I forgot to bring my own. They had fresh strawberries too with chocolate sauce  I know it's not vegan, but in front of the Tiki Room, the Dole Whip is delicious!

Aw, Danakskully64, I wish I had known! I am actually considering getting a few passes too for my family.
I had SUCH a good time and so did the girls!
I ended up being fruitarian for the day :o
I brought a huge bottle of water (with a couple of Emergen-C's), macadamia nuts, almonds and had carrot sticks and pineapple bought at Disneyland. Not the best day nutritionally, but I was so busy running around with the teens that I didn't really feel hungry anyway.

The passes are SO WORTH IT! I like the Southern California ones (second from the bottom, not Select). All of the blackout days are crazy busy anyway, so they wouldn't be enjoyable. The best times to go: January-early March, Tues-Thurs. We let our passes expire a while back, but Mark and I were going weekly for a while and loving it.
I'm glad you had such a great time! :) Did you go into California Adventure too? How old is your daughter?
Vacation days are not supposed to be healthy ones :p I know that when I was growing up, Disneyland didn't carry anything healthy. I LOVE what they've done with the place. What's also great about the passes is that they pay for themselves in 2 visits and you can get into both parks.
Have you been on Soarin' Over California? I LOVE that ride.
We should seriously meet up at Disneyland some time. If I leave Mark's house right after morning traffic time, I can be there in just under an hour :)

I'm glad you had fun!! I've heard terrible things about the food though. Like you're not allowed to bring things in and that there is Nothing vegan or healthy in the hwole park. I haven't been since I went vegetarian so I'm glad to hear you survived AND had fun :)

AFAIK they're not cooked on the same grill. I had a friend who worked there and he said they're not, and if you look in the back you can actually see two grills going. I feel like I asked the workers and they said they were cooked separately.
aw, I miss Disneyland. It's totally not my thing, the whole Disney corporation, but I have to admit D-land is fun. I have a pass too, but it's always blocked out over the holidays so I didn't get the chance to go when I was home and now I'm back in France. Maybe I should try to go to Eurodisney! I went once when I was little and I got some popcorn...I took one bite and discovered they put SUGAR on popcorn and not SALT! Not a fun surprise lol

So not true. You can bring in food, as long as it's not packed in with your gun and/or explosives :D

I wish the grilled veggies were more than just peppers, onions, and like, one other vegetable. I could seriously just live off of the fresh fruit and veggie stands :D

So that's why they didn't let me bring in my cooler of carrots, dried fruit, mixed nuts, and my .45 pistol. I thought they were fruit haters :)
