dose anyone in here read? Any favorite authors?
I love vampires and things like that, (anyone read the Twilight series by S.Meyer?). I just got done reading Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, good, but I think I'm going to have to read it again. One of my most favorite books is The Color Purple by Alice Walker, very good even though the language is difficult.

I'm a huge bookworm but it sounds like our taste is a little different. Check out Chuck Palahniuk though, I think just about everyone can grow to love him.

I read a lot, or at least I used to.... I try to find time, but I'm just so busy with school and homework... I probably read a book every week to two weeks.
I loved the Twilight series and Pride and Prejudice, too. Pride and Prejudice is one of my favorite books.... I also like My Sister's Keeper, The Guardian by Nicolas Sparks, Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, and Emma and Jane Eyre by Charlotte Brontė... Right now I'm reading Villiette by Charlotte and Empress by Shan Sa (it's about the first empress of China).
I don't really have a favorite author, but if I had to choose, then it would probably be Jane Austen or Charlotte Brontė.

I love books. Mostly real life type books. I've read alot about depression, eating disorders, ect. I find it interesting to read about other peoples problems.

^Then you would probably think my boring life is interesting. Depression, eating disorders... I've dealt with a lot.
I personally find those type of books depressing (because I can relate to most of them)... I prefer to read books with happy endings. I do like some books with sad endings, but only if they end that way for a good reason or if it was the only way the books could end.

I was just going to suggest him, he's probably one of my favorite authors. I've read most of his books, they're hysterical. I haven't read in a while though, for some reason there's not too much that keeps me interested enough to continue reading past a few pages.

I love reading and buying books, my bedroom looks more like a library than anything else
My favourite authors are Stephen King, F. Scott Fitzgerald, C.S Lewis, Richard Matheson, J.D Salinger and Ian McEwan.
I'm a LibraryThing.com convert, I'm on there every day and get more joy out catolouging books than is really normal.

Oh yeah, I love reading. I consider Harry Potter pretty freakin' awesome - right up there with oxygen - but I also love historical stuff. I've read all of Philippa Gregory's stuff. I also love, love, love J.D. Salinger and Laurie Halse Anderson. And, yeah, the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer.

Oh, I'm a total book nerd...If anyone out there hasn't read Terry Prathett, you havn't read anything.
Garth Nix and Scott Westerfield are good too, as wel las J.K. Rowling's books.
On the other end of the spectrum is Eragon and Eldest. *Gags*

Oh My Gosh! You have almost the exact same taste as me! I LOVE the S. Meyer series and I am in the middle of the second one now. I also loved the color purple. I have a reading list that my boyfriend and I have been getting at book stores(although he doesn't read fantasy, he likes Non fiction and religion and history and such). So far I have bought Twilight and New Moon and I want to get Eclipse. I have Crank and I want to get the rest of those, I have the new teen #1 at Borders called Dreamland. I like a LOT of stuff but I am mostly into any kind of fantasy, romance, western, teen life....etc. Fiction is my weakness...:o)

I CANT BELIEVE I DID NOT MENTION HARRY POTTER!!! I am absolutely in LOVE with Harry Potter and I cried when I knew it was over. I think J.K.R should make a new series about Harry's Kids....at least it wont be over. :o( That would be totally awesome!:pibo: Does anybody whose ready the series agree with me? Also, my room looks like a library too. I guess I could say I collect books! lol. My mom build shelves into my walls all around my room! lol

Hey who ever posted the library thing website thanks! Will have to check that out!
I am mostly into emo books too. Some good ones ( read a while ago, and were about middle/highschool level) were:
Child called it (LOVE the series)
Boy from the basement
Cut
Working on finding more that i really like, I am not really into fantasy (ie Harry Potter, etc.) to me it is just too "way out there". I just am not that creative and am unimaginative and would rather read non-fiction any day vs. fiction (unless it is "emo")
Anyone have "emo" suggestions?
