Does anyone here do tai chi? I am interested in trying it, as I have rheumatoid arthritis and from what I understand, it's a very gentle form of exercise. Can anyone give me any tips how to get started? Is a Y class OK, or should I seek out classes at an Eastern-oriented center? I'm going back to yoga classes in a few weeks, but sometimes I can't perform all the poses because of my joints.

I do like it but I haven't quite got the handle on it from the dvd's. I think it'd be easier to learn in a class setting. If you have a good instructor, I don't think it'd matter where you took the class. Maybe you could meet them all before deciding or walk by a class and see how they do.

Would love to take Tai Chi, unfortunately everyplace where I live is Karate, Tae Kwon Do, or Kickboxing. Not that there is anything wrong with those 3, it's just not interesting to me like Tai Chi is.
