I'm looking, any suggestions? There seem to be a lot of choices on the shelves at Wild Oats and I was wondering if anyone has bought one that they use and like.
I'm a female and I wear makeup so preferably one that washes off dirt/makeup, perhaps prevents acne, and all that good stuff...
(not tested on animals is a must!)

Thanks in advance!

I like Beauty Without Cruelty face wash, and i can't remember what i've used before that. now i have Jason face and hand soap and i am not too happy with it, at least not for my face. i've tried bwc moisturizer and thought it was too thin. now i have earth science almond-aloe moisturizer and i love it, it doesn't have the leaping bunny or anything tho so i'm not positive that it's vegan...if anyone knows it's not please let me know!

I use BWC face wash and moisturizer and love both. Quite inexpensive too.

I use Desert Essence tea tree oil face wash (it's a lot cheaper at Trader Joe's than at Wild Oats or other stores), and JASON face moisturizer with 15 spf, which I get online. Both products are vegan.

I mostly use homemade soaps from here (http://www.chagrinvalleysoapandcraft.com/). I also do OCM (oil cleansing method).

I use Lamas Beauty Citrus Face wash and their moisturizers, with and without sunscreen. All Vegan and no animal testing! I buy them online, but they are at some wild oats too.

LUSH has the best facial cleansers and they are vegan. try coalface for a wash, and tea tree oil for a toner. there are moisturizers too but youll have to check out the site. i have absolutely loved everything ive gotten from there and nothing is tested on animals.

Holy smokestacks! Thank you all for introducing me to LUSH! I was on their website for hours browsing all the different products. I love their concept of selling fresh natural cleansers and of course the fact that they have Vegan items so clearly marked!! The inner child came out in me when I saw those 'rolls' of cleansers and shampoo 'bars'. So friggin cool! There's a store up in LA and one in Santa Monica so I'm going to go next weekend an stock up!

I am using JASON Super-C Cleanser right now and I bought a tube of Nature's Gate spot corrector (2% Salicylic) to keep those pesky flare ups at bay. I swear it's only when I eat sugar laden items that I get zits. Other than that I have clear skin. I guess that's as good a reason as any to not eat sweets.

Anyway, can't wait to visit LUSH!

Lush seem to be pretty pricey considering they seem to contain the same crap that your average supermarket shampoo and cleanser has, such as parabens and SLS.

For Face Cream I use the Nourishing Cream by Herbology (www.herbologybeauty.com). Creamy and smells like vanilla.

Does anyone know of spa that has vegan treatments in NYC?

Yeah, I won't use anything that has those types of additives either. :notvegan:

Desert Essence makes an awesome vegan facewash, Pomegranate Facial Cleansing Gel. It has fruit acids and salicylic acid (the same pore-clearing stuff in Neutrogena's Deep Clean line). I'm on the fence with the companion moisturizer though...seems okay.

I have been using "Tea Tree and Clay Facial Soap" from south pacific body. They specialize in vegan olive oil soaps and I have been very happy with the results. My face has been nice and clear. I also love their soap dishes because it allows the soaps to dry in between each use. Nothing worse then a gelatinous mass of expensive soap!

I have been using MyChelle products for the past year and love the cleansers! They are vegan and profits benefit animal organizations. I use the Fruit Enzyme Cleanser at night and the Honeydew cleanser in the morning.

MyChelle is sold at Whole Foods and Wild Oats among others. It is a Frisco, Co company. Here is the site:

I use BWC cleanser and moisturizers. I also have some Jason aloe moisturizer that is pretty good.

I can't get into Lush. People seem to adore it, but I don't seem to like the scent of any of it.

I just ordered Fresh Farmacy from Lush. We'll see how that goes. The stores turn me off because of all the strong odours, so I figured online shopping may be the way to go. I still have lots of my non-vegan moisturizer left and I want to finish that up before I buy a vegan product.

I have been facing this issue as well. I have non vegan products in the house and would love to have the option to just get rid of it all and buy all new but that is pretty wasteful and expensive so I have decided to just use it.

If you want a face wash and the other one you ordered doesn't cut it try the face wash I put the link up for. There are not perfumes in it. It doesn't have any extra scent at all. Just what the product needs to do the job.

I just wanted to update to say that I've been using Fresh Farmacy from Lush for a few days now and it seems to be working quite well (however I have oily skin, so this probably isn't going to work for you if you have dry/normal skin). I would say it even works better than the non-vegan cleanser I was using before.

I've tried the Trichomania bar shampoo. It's okay but I don't know if I would buy it again. I find it tangles my hair pretty bad. But I have dry, thick curly hair. Other people seem to love it.
