Is there an easy way to post pictures in threads without having to make a file on a computer that I'm using. I've got this thread going and I'd like to post some of the pictures in the thread instead of providing a link.

You have to save them to your computer first.

In the Veggie Patch and the Compost Heap you can post a picture without saving it first. In this subforum, as well as in most subforums of VB apparently, you can't.

I just did, Sevenseas. That one is in my photobucket.
ETA: You have to be using the Advanced posting dealy.

Ok, can you give me more instructions, Brandon? I noticed you had [attach] then a number [ /attach]. So what is that number?
I've got two photos from that thread in a photobucket account I just opened.

I was talking about [img] tags. In some subforums they work and in some they don't, which is weird. This post is an example: http://www.veggieboards.com/boards/showpost.php?p=1791881&postcount=65

Oh ok. I've always used the attach method. I didn't know [img] tags would work at all. :)

While I'm here...
So when I want to direct someone to a certain post I add "&postcount65(or whatever # it is)? I've often wondered about that.

Brandon, ignore Sevenseas. lol. Can you take me through step by step on how to do what you did with that photobucket thingy as requested in post #6. Hmmm.... I'm going to practice directing people to a particular post.

Just click the number up in the right hand corner of the particular post.

Ok, yeah, click the number in the top right hand corner and then that brings up that internet address in that top bar and I can just link to that. Thanks.

Here's my question for you, Brandon:

Oh ok. Easy enough:
Just attach the image to the post. Then go to the top of your "go advanced" post's message box where the paperclip thing is and click the clip. You'll see the number there where your attachment is. Just click on that and it should insert it into the post.

Well, I'm going to bed. Hopefully someone will have given me step by step instructions for posting pictures from photobucket into a thread.
eta: oh Brandon's here. Yay.

What do you mean "attach the image to the post" ?

Ok, I did it. Can I make the image bigger like Sevenseas did?

I'm not sure about that. Maybe Michael or someone will have more info about that for you a bit later. I didn't even know we could use the [img] URL [/ img] method on VB. All someone has to do to see the pic you posted larger is to click on it.

Hey, we both learned something. Thanks for the help, Brandon.
Still if someone can tell me how to make the images bigger in the thread that would be super cool.

Apparently the [img] tags work in all of the General Discussion Forums (Vp, Ch, Entertainment, Frugal, Computers, Arts & Crafts) but probably not elsewhere.

if it could be made so that the [img] tag worked on all forums, then people could also be more creative with emoticons, without having to deal with attachments. one does get tired of the dancing carrot.11403

Right now the img tag only works in the General Discussion forums. I have to enable it forum by forum so it may take a while. For sure not until after the 1st of the year.
