I ordered 5 DVDs/CDs on Sunday, intended as Christmas presents. It is now Friday afternoon and I have only received one of them.
Anyone know how long they should take to get to me? Bear in mind they are only being sent from the UK, not overseas.

I ordered a CD, off amazon.co.uk, on Wednesday night, and it came this morning.
but times can vary.
oh, it was second hand, so it was from one of amazon's independents, so that might make a difference.

I never use Amazon any more, they messed up all my orders (and it wasn't even Christmas!) Some turned up 3 months later, some not at all but I still got charged for, then one turned up broken...
Play.com's the way forward, I tell thee!

twice I had an order not turn up, but when I contacted the both sellers with this information, I was given a full refund with no questions asked.

Yay, 2 more came this afternoon!
I have tracked the orders and for all of them it just says that they should be here within 2-3 working days. I ordered them all on Sunday so *hopefully* they should be here by tomorrow or Monday.

I ordered a couple things yesterday with the free shipping. They are telling me they'll get here on the 27th. I was actually expecting it to be longer than that, with the holiday craziness. They are usually right on time, too.

I only ever use z shops on amazon, as i can get CD's for a few pounds. I very rarely buy anything else, as their postage is expensive and to get free postage you have to spend a fair bit and also if you opt for free postage is takes forever. I second play.com. Now they do books it's even better. Free postage and packing and they're usually really quick plus they're nearly always cheaper.

I got the last DVD today (yay!) athough I still have a CD to receive. I emailed the seller a few days ago and he replied this evening saying he still hadn't sent it yet, what a complete ****. It will now have to be a late Christmas present!

If you buy from amazon sellers, it doesn't really have anything to do with the amazon shop time. Sorry your one gift might have to be late. :( Maybe they're really busy with the holidays and stuff. (But they shouldnt have put it up for sale this time of year, knowing people might buy it as a gift!)

Just fyi Amazon sells crap like this:
http://www.amazon.com/Dog-Pit-Fighting-Disease-History/dp/1846644488/ref=pd_bbs_sr_3?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1198358434&sr=8-3
http://www.amazon.com/Gamecock/dp/B00007LNAB/ref=pd_bbs_5?ie=UTF8&s=magazines&qid=1198358434&sr=8-5

Wow, I had no idea. At least it is US Amazon, I'm not sure stuff like that would be sold in the UK. Is cockfighting still legal in certain US States?

I think it's still legal in two states but dog fighting is illegal in all states.
