I've been skiing since I was 2 years old and I love it! 3 years ago I became a certified ski instructor and do it on the weekends. Although it's not the best job, I get to be doing what I love.

I know many people think that "skiing isn't cool", it's coming back in style. Skis are cooler than ever, the fashion is up to date, and skiers do just as much, if not more than snowboarders on the hill.

Is anyone else passionate for this winter sport?

Oh, Romina, I wish I could be. Unfortunately, it's the one sport I just can't adapt to, no matter how hard I try. Even water-skiing eludes me! I do admire people who can ski, though, and love to watch others take to the slopes.

My husband, meanwhile, who typically takes a LOT of time to learn a new sport, pretty much just snapped on his skis, stood up, and took off down a hill like he'd done it all his life. Go figure! :)

I'd do it if it were less expensive, but a day of downhill skiing would cost me about $100 minimum including gas, lift ticket and equipment rental. I usually do it one or two days of it a year when my wife's ex-step-dad rents a cabin in the mountains for the weekend and we go for a couple of days.

You're right, it is very expensive. Thankfully my father has found amazing ways to make skiing as cheap as possible for us. (Ie: work at ski hills to get benefits at others). And even worse is the fact that it takes lots of practice to perfect, and unless it is something you are passionate about, there's not much many people can do.
