Has anyone ever tried fencing? It is a great way to get you anger out. And burn calories.

I fenced for a few years but I had to stop because my fencing school was really far from my house. I'm hoping to start again in college because I really enjoyed it.
(and yes, you can see fairly well out of the masks)

i fence..been doing it for a few yrs, now; i compete, i love it, i'm fairly decent and probably won't ever quit.
its a highty aerobic and athletic sport so expect to sweat a lot. its extremely technical/tactical (think chess at 100 mph but YOU are the chess piece). its an intellectual challenge as well as a physical one. also if you decide to stay in the sport, you'll definitely want your own gear (club masks tend to be disgusting, think about it:spew: ). if you do end up getting addicted like the few of us, expect to spend a bit of money on equipment, club dues, tournament fees, etc.. you'll also meet great people.

I've always wanted to try it, but I never really had a chance to.

Yeah, I took fencing as a class at the city cultural center. It turned out to be really fun. But It only lasted like a month or so. I then couldn't do it anymore because of my busy schedule.:wall: But I would really like to get back into it.

My brother takes fencing lessons. He seems to enjoy it. I thought about doing it but I think I would rather do something like german long sword.

I used to fence in college. I had a friend in class and we would stay after and have brutal battles. In the 2nd year the new kids were afraid to line up with me... and I was the only girl in class!
I've been thinking of getting into it again. :-)
