View Full Version : Boar bristle brush?

I've searched the forums to see if this has been discussed before, but all I found was a reference to wooden bristle brushes.
I'm very interested in natural hair care, and am currently using a boar bristle brush that I bought many many years ago. (As there is no real market that I know of for old, used hairbrushes, I figure this is ok.) While it shows no signs of wearing out, I am concerned about what I should buy when it does. Does anyone know of a natural brush that would work in the same way? I have a wooden bristle brush, but this is wide-toothed and hence best for detangling, whereas the boar brushes are "smoothing" brushes, used to distribute the oils in your hair. Is there a natural fiber brush that would work the same as a boar bristle brush?
