I know there are people on these boards who adhere to the "Eat to Live" diet. I am curious how you may have altered Fuhrman's recommendations to improve your workouts. I've done the diet on and off for a couple of years, and have just returned to it. I like how I feel while I'm sticking to it, so I'd like to keep it up. The only problem is that sometimes I don't seem to have enough energy to sustain my running and biking. My usual calorie intake on it doesn't go above 1600, and that's with a cup of beans, a serving of whole grains, and 1 oz of nuts. I even get some dried fruit in for dessert. I'm not a big avocado fan and I am reluctant to increase my fat intake, but I'll do what I have to. How have you tweaked the diet to your energy needs?
