Yeah, I can confirm as well. Tom's does specifically say in bright red lettering on the tube: "This product does not contain saccharin; artificial sweeteners, preservatives, colors, or flavors; or animal ingredients. No animal testing."

watch out for this, though. some flavours contain propolis (a bee ingredient) and still say they contain no "animal ingredients".

Hmm perhaps I missed it. I wrote the company a letter anyway, asking if their no animal testing policy has changed ever since their partnership with Colgate. I'll let you know if I get an interesting response

I really love Kingfisher toothpaste -- the fluoride-free fennel one.

Mmm. It's like sweets, not hygiene.

It's my favourite vegan toothpaste too, although I sometimes buy a cheaper Indian 'Ayurvedic' brand with about a zillion ingredients in it :)

I just got Toms Of Maine's Cinnamint. It is much better than I expected. It tastes much more like cinnamon than mint, which makes me happy. Now I can ditch the old Crest stuff without a second thought. Tom's tastes a lot like the Crest cinnamon flavor. Oh, and the aluminum tube brings back memories. It's been a while since I've seen that.

Once, I tried a cinnamint flavor (by Colgate, I think), and it was not good. Actually, it tasted so much like mint, I couldn't even taste any cinnamon.

I know it sounds crazy to worry about the taste of toothpaste, but I brush more often if it doesn't taste nasty. And having had nothing but mint flavor until just a few years ago, I'm sick of mint toothpaste.
