The Blue Bicycle resturant in York placed foie gras on the menu in a public display protest against York council ban and also against Animal Rights campaigners and in favour of force feeding animals. This is how York Action For Animals (http://www.yafa.co.uk/index.html)re-acted as well as regular demos, YAFA have made public the latest ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICE REPORT. See below for more details.

BLUE BICYCLE HEALTH REPORT EXPOSED

ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH OFFICER (EHO) REPORT EXPOSES SLACK STANDARDS

For a business that charges similar prices to top London restaurants, you would expect high standards - BUT THIS IS NOT THE CASE !!!

We have obtained a copy of the report from the most recent inspection by the EHO (Environmental Health Officer) - it makes concerning reading.

It shows OUT OF DATE FOOD in the fridge and a whole range of slack standards across the board.

email or call them now to expess your concern that they are supporting animal cruelty and ask that they DROP FOIE GRAS

TO SEE A COPY OF THE REPORT CLICK HERE (http://www.yafa.co.uk/35.html)

Please contact the 'Blue Bicycle' restaurant to express your disgust and horror that they still sell foie gras and ask that they drop it from their menu.

On Sunday 25th November the following took place and made for such a brilliant day.

No customers
DEMO REPORT - Blue Bicycle

They say that 'any publicity is good publicity' - but not for the Blue Bicycle the last restaurant in York still selling Foie Gras.

From the moment that they opened today, YAFA (http://www.yafa.co.uk/index.html)activists were outside with placards and leaflets to hand to passers by, as well as copies of the latest E.H.O. report to give to any prospective customers - the same EHO report that exposed OUT OF DATE FOOD in the fridge and greasy surfaces, no cleaning schedules and essential temperature checks missing (amongst other things - full EHO report available to view at www.yafa.co.uk )

The result ? - NOT ONE SINGLE CUSTOMER WENT INTO THE RESTAURANT - several groups of people thanked YAFA (http://www.yafa.co.uk/index.html) for bringing this to their attention, including one mother who was about to book a table of 10 for her daughters birthday party.

Dozens of groups of people were turned away, as YAFA (http://www.yafa.co.uk/index.html) gave them leaflets about foie gras and handed out copies of the EHO report - as well as recommending alternative restaurants nearby.

Other local restaurants, who do not sell foie gras, were packed full of customers enjoying a Sunday dinner - whilst the staff of the Blue Bicycle were left with no customers and nothing to do - they appeared embarrased and must surely have questioned their managment's poor judgement by recently deciding to add Foie Gras to their menu.

The empty restaurant, was due to close at 2.30pm but staff closed up half an hour early and went home.

THE LESSON FOR THE BLUE BICYCLE IS CLEAR - FOIE GRAS IS UNACCEPTABLE - YOU WILL BE DEMOED UNTIL YOU STOP AND LOSE BUSINESS AS A RESULT AND YOUR REPUTATION WILL BE MUD AMONG LOCALS IN THE FINE CITY OF YORK.
