I was sure glad to find out that Avon and Bath & Body Works...along with makers of some of my other favorite products...don't test on animals. I will buy more from these manufacture's and less from the others.

I am wondering about the makers of some of Victoria's Secret's products. I have worn their perfumes for years and tried to find out if the makers of their products test these on animals. If they do I will have to give them up.

Does anyone know? I went to the Does and Does Not lists at PETA, but Victoria's Secret wasn't listed by name on either list and I am not sure about the labs that make their products.

Victoria's Secret is on Peta2's List of cruelty- free companies:

Bless you, McKay, for pointing that out. I had not seen them on the list I downloaded from the actual PETA site, and just learned about the Peta2 site last night & haven't been over to investigate it thoroughly yet.

I am a long-time Victoria girl and I enjoy their stuff; however, I see they're cosmetics are cruelty free, but doesn't list all their fragrances and bath stuff. I am slowly removing cruetly companies from my products list.

Thanks again!!

Victoria's Secret may not be cruel to animals, but they are cruel to humans.

You know what's really sad? Many places get their clothes and products from sweat shops (Ex: Walmart, Nike, Disney, etc). I know there are pros and cons to them, but it's just a sad business overall. More on sweatshops (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sweatshop).

I think other VS products are not tested on animals. They don't sell fur, but they do sell wool and leather, so watch out. My favorite VS product, by far, is the So Sexy shampoo and conditioner. As my friend Roe put it, it's an orgasm in a bottle  I love their Dream Angels perfume line too (halo is my scent)! I also own about 20 Beauty Rush lip glosses :) The "I want Candy," "Passion Fruit Pop," and Mint are my fav!

Yes, I was in VS the other day, and finally had a chance to walk around the store and check out a lot of their scented body washes, etc. I see that most of the bottles read that the product is not tested on animals.

However, there are a few scents by Bath & Body Works that I like better, and I know they don't test on animals either.

I do love the So Sexy by VS too. Now they've come out with a new line of body sprays and lotions... I love Coconut Passion. I am a Dream Angels scent wearer too; I love Halo and Desire. In winter, I love to wear Rapture. I also like their lip glosses... they taste so fruity.

I got some V.S. brand body moisturizer before for free from someone. The price was high, the product was nothing special and it smelled funny. It was fine for a freebie, nothing I'd want to go buy/.

Go to their store and try some other products. I notice a huge quality difference between VS and products from Target. I don't like every scent there, but what I do like, I LOVE.

I just heard not that long ago that their stuff is sweat shop made. I'm not buying anything from them anymore.

Their clothing? What's sad... most places use sweat shops. :( I wish they would improve the conditions.. bringing jobs to other countries is great, but human suffering is never acceptable.

My daughters stopped shopping as VS because their stuff always fell apart after a few washings....I never tried their lotions/shampoos, etc.

I have a few tops from VS that have all held up for more than a year (they're still going strong). I wash all of my clothes on the delicate cycles (even pants) to ensure they stay in great shape and don't stretch or wear out. You would think that because the clothes are more expensive, they'd be better quality, but that's not always the case. VS clothes actually come from a number of companies, I didn't know that until I looked at the labels.

I honestly prefer Bath and Body Wash lotions (I haven't really given VS a chance, I've always just loved the scents better).

I'm telling you, the Angels perfume and the hair products (So Sexy Shampoo) are awesome.

Yeah, I know my girls just threw the stuff in with their other wash! They're not likely to wash anything by hand or on a gentle cycle. And it was mostly bras and underwear. The wires ALWAYS came out of the bras.

I don't buy VS bras because they don't carry my size :p But I really like Frederick's of Hollywood for panties. They're pretty inexpensive and hold up well. I've had several pairs of pants/jeans from VS that I liked, and I have a couple tops I like.

I'm definitely wanting to buy a lot of the beauty stuff they have on sale right now, but I'm trying to be good.

Fredricks is the shiat...especially for larger sized bras.

I prefer bath and body works lotion over vs also although I did find some amazing fruity smelling lotions at victoria's secret. I love fruity smells :)

I never did until about a year ago. I spend $45 on each bra (Victoria's Secret) and there is no way I'm putting them in the washer. I did for a while, but noticed a huge difference in how the elastic wears so they aren't as supportive after a few washes. I always thought it would be a pain in the butt to handwash bras, but its super easy and can be done in 2 minutes (+ 3 minutes of soaking). I hang them over my bath towel to dry (I usually have them soaking in the sink while I'm in the shower).

How old are your girls?

Me too! My FAVORITE scents are: Black Raspberry Vanilla, Warm Vanilla Sugar, Tropical Passionfruit, Pink Grapefruit, Fresh Pineapple, Mango Mandarin, and Midnight Pomegranate.

Their old apple scent was better than their current one. I actually don't have much of the lotions above, I have a ton of hand soaps though (3 tropical passionfruit ones). I have the Grapefruit and Passionfruit in body butter and I LOVE them. Black Raspberry Vanilla and Warm Vanilla Sugar are the 2 I have bought in the past for body lotion.

I'm always hearing great things about VS shampoo but they aren't in Australia. Yet they have one of our best exports yet, Miranda Kerr! Boo.

I am a huge VS and VS Pink fan. I'm happy to know that their beauty products don't have animal testing.

However, on the back of a lipgloss I have from Avon, one of the last ingredients was Carmine. Carmine is a red-dye made from female beetle shells. Eek!
