Hi guys, i'll give you a little background on myself:

I'm seventeen, i weight about 68kg and i'm 5 foot 8, according to the charts and my doctor i'm in the healthy "weight", but i'm not fit currently and have a tiny bit of leftover flab from when i put on weight when i was about 13.

I eat very healthily and drink lots of water and i do a 20-30mintue walk a day.

Right.. the problem is.. i've got chronic fatigue syndrome/m.e... So doing a lot of pushups knackers me really badly and can make me ill.. i can do a fair few (i'm starting to recover from it, but i still suffer from it)

So can anyone tell me any ideas on how i can get fittened up and lose the last bit of flab left? Like adding other things whilst i'm walking (weights?) or doing some variants on pushups?

Situps seem to really tire me out.. not sure why... but bleh :notvegan:

Thanks in advance guys :guitar:

Have you tried yoga and pilates?
They're extremely good for toning and lengthening as well as relaxation

I also think cycling and swimming would be good as you're not working against your own body weight as much so you'll feel less tired but still getting a decent cardio workout ^^

I hope that helps

Swimming is amazing exercise for your back, shoulders, arms, and even abs!

Thanks for the input :)

How long do you guys reckon i should be swimming a day to be burning enough fat/getting fitness up? [bare in mind i don't want to do TOO much otherwise i'll end up relapsing/knackering myself] :p

If you're swimming at a decent rate (i.e heart is pumping quite strong) then 30-45 mins should be enough to begin building up. You can increase once you feel like thats too easy. Good luck ^^

You could buy a bicycle and use that as your main source of transportation. That way every where you go will be working out. You can't help but get fit at that point. Believe me, the body fat will melt off. I don't know how your chronic fatigue syndrome will affect this though.

when I was swimming 3-5 days a week during school, i would swim 30-45 mins at a stretch.

take things slow. Your body will tell you if you are pushing yourself too hard :)

I did yoga to lose the baby weight that just wouldn't go away. Yoga stretches that use your stomach muscles are a really good way to get rid of the pesky middle area. I own a book called "The Complete Guide to YOGA". It's a great book full of lots of pictures and it walks you through how to do each pose. You might want to check it out if you don't have yearly access to a swimming pool.

god bless the eliptical machine if you go to a gym. i like it because you can do arms and legs at the same time. and take libellua's advice: too much too soon is not good.
