In IE, in file, you can go to send, then "link to desktop", if you move that "link to desktop" to the task bar it can become one of those task bar buttons that I don't know the name of.

All of my favorite sites are a button on my taskbar, so in a way it's like having several different homepages, but always having the one I want popping up.

Now, this is what drives me mad:

All of the sites I go to BUT this one and www.dictionary.com turn into a cute little icon of that site, for example, my LotRs board turns into an icon of a ring, www.google.com turns into a big blue G, etc.

www.veggieboards.com turns into a nice little IE symbol. :(

Mike, you must do something! I can't tell this site apart from the dictionary!

Menu screen? Not sure what you mean. It all looks fine to me.

Mikie, today I came across how to do that thing you were talking about. Will try to do it soon.

"Menu screen? Not sure what you mean"
I click on Veggieboards on this page, the blue one above go to first unread post, and the page is 50% bigger than all the others...

Looks fine to me. What browser are you using and what is your monitor resolution set at?

Mikie, it would really speed things up if you'd send me a pic for that thing. :)

IE6 and 1024 by 768 pixels. Is that the right answer? I don't really know what you're talking about, but I HAVE NOT been fiddling with my computer, it just happened...

Strange. Not sure what to tell you. :( Mine is set at 1024x768 and I checked it with IE6. All looks good to me.

I've found what it is. I reduced my font size by 20%, and it cured it. Hotmail is impossible to read, but VB is fine ! :D

Michael

Well that's all that matters. :D

Michael

Once you find me a little picture to use I'll try to add it. We need to work as a team! There is no "I" in "button thingy". Ah, never mind.

mikie,

They're called Quick Launch icons. You can make each one whatever you want by right-clicking on it, selecting properties, then clicking Change Icon (not sure where this button will be on each version of Windows, but on 2000 it is on the default page (Web Document) that appears).

From there you can select an icon, either from a separate icon file or from a file that contains icons.
