I saw this in the store yesterday and was wondering if anyone has tried it.

Yup! It's good :) The only thing is that after you cook it you need to let it cool for a bit, or else the "cheese" will be runny. You can do a search too and find past threads about it.

You know, even though it has partially hydrogenated oil in it, I might have to try it, if it were available around here.

Oh yeah, I forgot to say that, it does have some trans fats but it's ok if you eat it once in awhile as a treat :)

I actually tried their cheese pizza the other day. It tastes about the same as those sheet pizzas they had in grade school growing up, the rectangular sliced ones - not great but pretty decent for a dairy-free pizza. Also like bluegrrrl79 said, let it cool for a few minutes because the cheese is quite running after baking. If you need a pizza fix, snag a few of these and toss them in your freezer. They're nice for when you're too tired/busy/lazy to cook real food ;)

btw I also got hooked on their ice cream. IMO their mini ice cream sandwiches ("cuties" I think?) taste just as good as their dairy counterparts...I'm not big on compromised wanna-be food replacements but these really hit the flavor/texture spot-on.

Thanks for the responses. I gave it a shot and you were all right. It did taste like sheet pizzas you would get at grade school and the cheese was very runny without it being cooled down. It was fairly cheap (about $3) compared to amy's pizzas but I definetly prefer amy's. I haven't tried tofutti's other products because I know I will become addicted and they are pretty pricey.

I agree, despite Tofutti's dairy-free pizza have a slight resemblence to real cheese pizza, I prefer Amy's as well. Any idea what that brown dried-goopy stuff on top of Amy's dairy-free pizza is? Whatever it is, it's pretty good! :lick:

It completely reminds me of Elio's pizzas from when I was a kid. They're not *great* but they definitely have the nostalgia vote.

I just had Amy's gluten free/dairy free spinach pizza (yum!) and it totally reminded me of the Tony's pizza that my mom used to get, but at least slightly healthy.
