My apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong forum, but I guess I am looking for an animal-friendly charity that combats hunger. I'm hosting an alternative gift fair, and somebody on my committee is really pushing for Heifer International  Mercy Corps looked good, but their donation program also allows for donating animals for slaughter. Any ideas? For this event, it needs to be a charity and not a political advocacy organization. Thanks!

I thought the title said "Veg friendly hunter charity" and was really really confused, haha.

yeah, i also know about food not bombs.

my university organized a group of it as well. they prepare mostly vegan (but also accept vegetarian, and if someone brings omni food, they wont turn them away, but usually doesnt happen) and bring it to homeless people at least once a week.

that's just what i know about the group at my school, i dont know what their global or national (i dont know) group philosophy/rules/ all that stuff is...
