This came to mind while in a post about "what do you do" for our earth everyday..and I said that I use those plastic box thingys that fruits and veggies come in from Trader Joe's to sprout my herbs.. and I was wondering why the hell I haven't shared it with the gardening forum yet!!
Anyway.. these little boxes snap shut at the corners but still have air spaces so they are perfect mini greenhouses to help you start growing plants and recycle at the same time.

I know what you are talking about - and that's a great idea!!

How does this work? You plant them in the small container, and then when they get bigger, you plant them somewhere else? We use lots of those plastic things from Trader Joes and I am starting on a garden right now, so that might be something I want to try...

I have a "greenhouse", it is a set of shelves, that has a plastic cover that goes over it. It works wonderfully, I got it for target online at www.target.com Some of my plants thrive in it, some are too sensitive, but I think it will be great when winter comes around.
