Anyone planning for the fall yet?

I've stopped all planting - and am maintainng and harvesting through the middle of August, but beginning in September I will be starting to plant for fall.

My plan:

Spinach
Green Leaf Lettuce
Beets (red and gold ones)
Carrots (the fingerling type)
Mustard Greens
Turnips
Bok Choy Cabbage
and Snow Peas (crossing my fingers - usually don't have good luck with this)

What are good late summer plantings dvmarie? Container wise of course I mean. I've been meaning to ask you as I am planning a late summer/fall garden.

I thought you (who as far as I'm concerned is the garden goddess) might share some advice with me so I'd have a better chance of success this fall.

Thanks!

I would need a green house to be able to plant anything in Sept. The only thing I do in the fall is put things to bed for the winter.

Thanks Bethanie for crowning me Garden Goddess - I like that :) I made a t-shirt for myself that has a row of radishes (showing them as they would be under-ground) that says Vegetarian Gardener. Should have made me the Garden Goddess on it instead :)

Most things planted in late summer will be fall crops.
Most everything will grow in containers.

Leafy greens (spinach, lettuce, bok choy, etc.) planted in late summer will be good for fall. The short long flower bed style containers are good for those (but they will grow in any container)

Same for radishes, turnips, beets, carrots - easy to grow in containers.

Fall stuff in containers could be a good thing. Easy to protect from the frost (you could even bring it inside if you had to).

Okay, I'm keeping it simple this fall. I've got jalepenos that are seedlings, so I guess they will harvest in fall. I've got romas because I stupidly planted cherry (or as the package said)/gardener's delight tomatoes. Other than that, I have just planted some cantaloupe in my downstairs teensy plot, and am planning on also planting a pumpkin or two next to that. So the containers will be tomatoes, peppers, cilantro, basil. I'm also planning on puting in garlic this fall. I think that's it.
