Oh my Jesus.. I just tried Tofutti ice cream for the first time. It is so.. so very good. I'm having Chocolate Cookie Crunch. Better than how I remember Baskin Robbins. And I thought Soy Delicious was awesome.. Nope. I'm in heaven now.

If you can find it, try the Soy Dream Mint Chocolate Chip. I have no shame. I will eat a pint in one sitting.

I haven't had Tofutti in so long. I stopped eating it a while back because it contained hydrogenated oil. However, I learned not too long ago that they no longer do! So, next time I have a hankerin' for some ice cream I'll have to get some. It definitely *is* the best tasting brand. Have you tried the cuties yet? If not, make sure you do!

OMG- The mint chip cuties are the BEST! My only complaint is that they should be about 5x's bigger.

Soy Cream Mint Chocolate Chip is even better.

Never tried Tofutti ice cream before. I guess the packaging turned me off... Hmph.

I still can't find Soy Cream. I want some! Epski- will you send me some? My Trader Joes seems to phasing out the Double Rainbow brand, and I forgot to ask them last time I was there about Soy Cream.

Just tried Tofutti Chocolate Chip Mint for the first time (last night). Really good, but tasted a bit "off"... not sure how though. Wish it was green though! *sulks*

I hate artificially colored mint ice cream. :spew:

And I used to love it! :P

'Course I am thinking of the green kind that was dairy in comparision to the white tofutti kind.

I recently tried their sour cream and Vanilla Fudge ice cream, and I was very impressed! :)

The sour cream I bought the other day still contained partially hydrogenated oil, though. :( Not sure about the ice cream.

My favorite dairy mint choc chip was Breyer's. No funky flavors or colors added. But alas, it was made with cows' milk.

This is probably a stupid question, but when Tofutti removes the partially hydrogenated oils from their products, could that possibly affect the taste or texture? I hope not....

that is why it took so long for them to remove the oils.

but i am thrilled it will be out of all of their products sometime soon..

*shudders in delight* They finally have the Soy Cream at Whole Foods... Best of all, they have Mint Chocolate Chip, and a flavor I didn't know about, Mocha Almond Fudge. Mmm. I had half a pint of MCC tonight, and I'l ltry the MAF tomorrow. I'm in my own private heaven.

mmmmmmm, you all have made me want to go get some. I guess I need to try it so I can figure out how to make some at home once my soymilk maker gets here.......that was one of my little projects I was going to work on - perfecting a soy "ice cream" and getting it real creamy. when I go get some I better make sure I have a spoon handy because I don't think I will wait till I get home to dig in...

mmm...Once I found a Soy Cream Eggnog flavor (no eggs.) It was the greatest ice cream I've ever had (vegan or not.) It was shoved way in the back of a freezer in a hfs, and I've never found one again. :(

Where I live, there is an old fashioned ice cream parlor that serves Tofutti! It is so nice to be able to sit down and have "ice cream" when everybody else wants to go out! Seems to taste better too. Just the atmosphere, I'm sure!

Soy Cream makes eerily good soy ice cream, I sometimes think they're selling dairy and lying on the label (being the company sells dairy as well).

Tofutti, I've come to realize must be aimed at the lactose intolerant, they aren't a vegan minded company. I say this because I found a package of Tofutti chocolate chip cookies, was very excited and bought them, only to realize that they had eggs in them!! I thought I was safe because of the brand, anyone can make dairy free cookies, doh.. it's egg free that's unique!!

Soy Dream & Rice Dream products are all pretty good too. Those Rice Dream cookie sandwiches are excellent.

I've also gotten really excited when I've seen a Tofutti products I hadn't seen before, only to be disappointed to see that they have egg whites (their veggie burgers for example) . But at least alot of their stuff is vegan (and their pizza is pretty good). Regarding Rice Dream cookie sandwiches, their mocha ones with the oatmeal cookies are SO good......

I got tricked with those cookies as well. I bought them only to find out they had eggs. I thought all tofutti stuff was vegan, but yeah. I emailed them about it, but never got a response.
