Would you ever buy battery-farmed eggs from a shop or supermarket? Probably not.

Yet restaurants and cafes use battery-farmed eggs every day in cakes, mayonnaise, fresh pasta, and many more dishes, without telling you. If they were labelled ‘made with battery-farmed eggs’ would you still want to eat them?

If you care about what goes into your food and where it comes from then Label My Food needs you.

Label My Food is an exciting new campaign encouraging restaurants, pubs, cafes and all other food outlets to dramatically improve the information they provide to customers on their menus.

Whether it is animal welfare, the environment, a food allergy, your religion or just a general interest in food that motivates you, please show your support.

If you would like to join or just find out more, please visit our website. Membership is completely free.

Please note that this is a UK based campaign.

I wish US egg cartons would have to carry labels stating if they're battery produced.

However, I really doubt most Americans would even notice such a label or understand it. Most people I know would probably think it meant the eggs were packaged on battery-operated equipment! LOL

And if it said something along the lines of, "eggs from caged hens," I'm imagining most shoppers shrugging and saying, "So? Aren't all chickens kept in cages?"

Since so many people have trouble understanding the mandatory nutrition labels, I have a hard time imagining many could visualize the differences in industrial farming methods.
