Survey of peer reviewed studies reveals less than 50% of published scientists believe global warming is man made. More skeptics than advocates among scientific community while IPCC claim majority endorse the theory

Well it will be interesting to see when Schultes survey comes out and see how he came to the figures and see if they stack up .

However, while only 32 papers (6%) reject the consensus outright, the largest category (48%) are neutral papers, refusing to either accept or reject the hypothesis.Oh dear. So because many of the papers do not focus on the reasons for climate change, they're taken as evidence that a majority of scientists do not support "man made" climate change? This leap of logic alone is enough for me to reject the article as complete and utter crap.

Grasping for straws that will allow us to maintain our lifestyle without facing the need for change? Me thinks so.

Definitive proof?

The thread title needs a question mark, at least.

I agree ^Bof but thats how the heading was posted on the net and I thought it was a pretty out there statement so I will keep track of it and see what his Definitive proof is .

"the world is being sold a lie on climate change by a group of politicians and elite lobbyists who wish to seize on the opportunity to hype the global warming threat and use it as a means of social manipulation for political and corporate gain."

So by largely ignoring the problem and cutting environmental programs and lobbying against CCS and like technologies, dropping out of Kyoto and pushing other nations to do so is manipulative how?

I hope the flooding gets the skeptics' houses first.

I believe that we should still be more environmentally concious (sp?) whether or not global warming is man-made. I hope scientists will find a way to solve it.

It's interesting that the folks who claim that the very recent rapid rise in global temperatures is not man-made do not have an alternative hypothesis available. They seem to be operating with a pre-Renaissance worldview where things 'just happen'. :sunny:

No need. The figures in this article completely and outrageously contradict its conclusion.

Of papers that imply anything at all about the cause of climate change, about 238 assume it is manmade, and 32 say it is not.

Good grief. It's not even good by bull**** standards.
