I was wandering around my local HFS when I saw this little end cap display that siad "Vegan Baking Center". It wasn't really anything new just some normal stuff that had been moved to display better. But then there was this jar, all by itself, looking lonely, and delicious. It was this:

(sorry about my inability to link it inside the post and make it pretty)

So I brought it home, and after putting all the other yummy stuff away, I openend it and stuck my finger in and tried it. It's absolutely freakin fantastic! Looks, smells, feels, and tastes "Just Like Honey". I was amazed. It has a very very subtle hint of syrup flavor which I find mild and wonderful. I haven't bought honey.... in at least 6 years. I just made the most delcious honey lemon pasta and tofu dish and let me tell you.... I've been missing this stuff in my life.

So in case you've never seen it, and you might miss honey like I did, try it. It's no more expensive than the real thing, and you can let the bees have their honey all to themselves :)

That sounds awesome! Honey has been a big issue for me not going vegan. Yes, I know it's not a good reason but... Still. Cheese? Easy. Milk? Gives me a stomache ache. Eggs? Just gross and makes me so sick I end up having to stay home. Honey? I'm tryingbut it's hard! It's EVERYWHERE! They don't lable honey like everything else. Not here in the US anyway.

I'm in the US and I know... it's sometimes considered "natural flavors". This stuff is awesome. I used to love to cook with honey and I'm glad I can have that flavor back :) Hope you try it and enjoy it!

Will check it out. I've tried cheap imitation honey before it was alright but this stuff looks really good. Thanks!!

Nice! I use Agave Nectar (from cacti), and it's great too, but that stuff might be even better.

Eh, I absolutely cannot stand agave nectar. This might be nice to try.

I like both agave nectar and rice nectar. Good stuff! :)

It's really really really good :) Agave is nice for some things, but this is like beeless honey from the Gods. And it's not outrageously pricey eiether. It's about the same as regular honey.

I keep finding recipes and making excuses to eat it. Like, "oh look that poor little bannana is going bad. I guess it needs some Peanut butter and "honey" Yum!" or taking all the tofu in the house and making honey and lemmon pepper baked tofu.

I haven't been this excited about something new in awhile :) Try it!
