I liked it when I was in the US and had soft water. it worked a treat. I bought some in the UK where our water is rock hard and it doesn't rinse away and our soap scum became out of control. I couldn't shift it.

I think in soft water it is great. I just couldn't deal with it with hard water.

It does work better in softer water.

I've used it as toothpaste (3-4 drops), shampoo, body wash; just about everything. These days, I'm using the 3-4 drops and then using regular toothpaste. It's working really well.

I LOVE Dr Bronner liquid soap...You feel squeaky clean..I like all the scents but my favorite is still the original peppermint...

I've used it before to wash my hair. I was not diluting it and I would wonder why my hair was so squeaky. It's like it stripped all the moisture from it. Now I know that you're suppose to dilute it. LOL. It's a cool soap though. :)

I dilute and use it in our hand soap dispensers. I bought the bar soap and it is ok. I prefer others like Kiss My Face. Dr. Bonner's soap seems a little more drying to the skin. We have a water softener now and I have to admit I haven't tried it with soft water.

I love Dr. Bronner's so many uses and it's organic and not tested on animals. Love this stuff!

i have the liquid peppermint and i LOOOOVE it. i use it every day to wash my body... just a few drops and it lathers up like a charm. it's perfect for shaving. it will last me for a really, really long time. i've also used it as shampoo with good results. i heard the oils don't really do well on clothes so it's not best as a detergent. seriously it's inexpensive and good for so many things! i always take a little bottle when i'm traveling and i don't need nearly so many bottles as i used to. i also used to have the almond soap and it smells great too.

I almost bought some last night but I see it has oil in it. I'm acne prone, so I wonder if I should avoid it.

Wow! I've read you could do that, but I never had the nerve. I'm kinda impressed, lol.

At any rate, yeah it's so amazing there are so many uses and it's organic, can't beat that. I love it in mixed with water in a foaming hand soap pump, or I mix one tsp in my spray bottle with water to clean my counters and bathroom, and it's great for cleaning floors too. The best part is the smell it's nice not to have a toxic smelling home, but a clean and refreshing one.

Well, you could always give it a try. You can mix it with water, I wouldn't use it full strength. If it makes you break out you can always use it to clean with.

It is a great hand soap. Get's your hands very clean and rinses away nicely. It is too drying to use as a face soap. I prefer the "baby" soap - no scent, no peppermint sting. I don't know about getting it in your eyes though. Probably not a good idea even with any baby soap. You can shampoo with it but dilute and use very little. Not for very dirty hair as it will strip out too many hair oils and not replace them. For face and shaving I use Kiss My Face plain unscented olive oil soap. Very gentle on you face.

Dr B's soap is too expensive to use to clean floor, walls, whatever. It is ok for washing vegetables. I don't like to use commercial dish detergent for that.

You can dilute it, a little goes a long way.

my boyfriend swears by it for his hair. It leaves my hair too oily, it works well as a body wash for me though.

Curious about it as a toothpaste though... I like Tom's of Maine :)

But I do heart this product.

I took a little bottle of the peppermint soap on a long trip abroad so that I could wash clothes/hair/body with just one product. I didn't notice that it wasn't a good clothing detergent, but I wasn't expecting much (I was hand washing stuff in the sink. . . just the necessities). As a body wash, it was really refreshing, but in colder climates it made me a little chilly! It didn't work so well on my hair, however. Left it somewhat dry.

"As a body wash, it was really refreshing, but in colder climates it made me a little chilly! "

Yup. That's why I get the "baby mild" formulation. No peppermint oil.

I love it as a body wash. I've tried it as a toothpaste but I didn't really like the taste, so I'll stick with Kiss My Face toothpaste. I also enjoy it for cleaning, and I use it as a clarifying shampoo everyonce in a while to get styling product buildup out of my hair. I think it's too drying to use as a regular shampoo. But still, it's well worth ti to keep some in the house. I love the almond scented one.

I use it as a body wash and I LOOOOOOOOOVE it. I've been using it pretty exclusively for almost a year, and I haven't had to use lotion ever since, even during the cold New England winter. My favorite is the almond one. I can't use it as a shampoo though. My hair is crazy thick and it just ended up a mess when I washed it with Dr. Bronner's.

I just bought some for the first time, lavendar scent, and it's great. A little definitely goes a long way. The only thing I don't like is that you have to dilute it so much with water. It pretty much shoots out of my hand soap dispenser and gets everywhere. I've learned the key is to pump very slowly. :)

You can also try a self foaming pump. : )

It sounds funny, but it's so true. You end up using a tenth of what you do with liquid soaps, and dr. bronner's diluted in water goes even further. I'm not really that thrifty this is just what I've found works best. I used to buy those gallon jugs of kiss my face handsoap and it worked out pretty good, but dr. bronner's is also organic and inevevitably creates much less waste and therefore all and all is more environmental.
