Hi everyone - I have always been interested in yoga, but until now, have never gotten off my ass to look into it. Has anyone found a place they can take cheap or free classes? I have not found anything helpful at search engines so far. Thanks :)

I'm a member of the YMCA so I can take yoga classes for free. The membership is $43/month (where I live; I think prices might vary by location), but for that you get to use the gym, take all free classes (we have five yoga sessions per week, not to mention all other sports like pilates, aerobics, spinning etc - all free). If this is too much, then I would recommend checking out DVDs or VHS at your local library and trying at home first. Or you can try talking to some yoga instructors. The ones who are in it for spiritual reasons rather than just trying to make money could be very understanding and let you take classes in excahnge for services (e.g. help clean the studio, help them with their website or something similar).

Thanks for the advice. I called the local Y and they have yoga. Its 60$ for 8 classes, or 10$ each. The first one is free. I was hoping all of them would be  But thats because Im totally ass-broke until November, when I can work again. I think Im going to go to the one free class on Tuesday though :)

You could get videos for free through your public library...? Or if you get a fitness channel, or there is a yoga podcast. But those aren't classes, just videos, so I'm really no help here.

Here in OK, (maybe other places, too?) state and federal employees can take free yoga classes offered by Global Health Insurance. I don't know if something they offer in other places, but that's one place to try if you haven't already.

If you just want to do Hatha Yoga and you belong to a gymn, check out your gymn's schedule. Also, look for yoga meetups on Meetup.com.
